Back from Spooksavers. All OK with the eyes - only a slight tweak needed from my last test 2 years ago The optometrist was lovely and so slim. I reckon he would have to run around in the shower to get wet. I had a cunning plan to just have new lenses put into my present frames but would you believe it, it was actually cheaper to get new frames because of their 2 for 1 offers so that is what I have done. Having reactions lenses put in one of the pairs so no need for sunglasses.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Hi folks, Planning a trip to Ashwoods today to get a few plants for a hollow log I have that gets used as a planter. It's been cleared out and moved to a sunnier spot. I think the sun might break through soon but it doesn't feel very warm out there. Might also run the mower over again to pick up some of the bits left over from the tree surgeons visit. Hope the back is improving @Ante30. Anyone heard fom @Cheyngel recently.
@Songbird-1 I know it’s a risk but I just feel so much happier thinking everything will go back to normal and planning accordingly. If it all goes wrong we will deal with it but I must be optimistic or I get very down. I am afraid I am not a person who can look at the dark side and stay cheerful. I admire those who can.Â
Successful trip to Ashwoods more compost, 6 alpines for the log planter and a plant that the name has gone completely from my head. Likes shade, spotty leaves and one variety is called something like sailors and soldiers. I'm sure it will come to me shortly.Â
The sun has been shining this afternoon so I planted up the log, mowed the lawns, weeded front borders and pruned Wollerton Old Hall, last rose to get the snip. I've also resited two large obelisks that were replace by a gated rose arch. I think I'll be checking out Taylor's clems later.Â
Afternoon everyone. Yvie, I think your plant is Pulmonaria. Lovely plant. One of my favourites. Chey is hanging on in there.
Debs, like you I'm planning next February's family holiday with my niece-in-law. Cautiously optimistic it will go ahead. I'm still waiting to hear about the possibilities of a French trip in the Autumn.
Hazel, its been very nippy here so I've been doing domestic stuff. Lots of wet cloth things on the whirligig. Sofa del Sol had me giggling!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Afternoon everyone, I so wanted to get out in the garden today to cut the front grass and do a bit of tidying in the back garden. But brrrrrrrr is it cold today. What a difference a day makes. Far too chilly to be outside today. Yvie, you've been really busy, you should sleep well tonight. I liked the Sofa del sol comment @Songbird-1 sounds a lovely, cosy and relaxing place to be. Great place for curling up with a good book and a drink or two 😉 Have been searching for some garden furniture, but either it's very expensive or not my taste. This could take awhile 😂 @debs64 have you thought of a colour for your outfit. LB glad all went well at the opticians.Â
LB I’m glad you had a good visit this morning.  An early appointment.  Hazel it’s good you enjoyed your walk.  It wasn’t too cold here when I had a short walk.  I ordered something from eBay scheduled to be delivered by Hermes on Monday according to the seller but I’ve not heard from Hermes at all.  I tried to get in touch with seller but through the email from eWay but the page is no longer there.  I did previously get the email from eWay saying it had been posted. It could be delays as it’s coming from Londonderry.  Here’s hoping, but strange Hermes haven’t been in touch.  I’ve been pottering and cleaned the bathroom shhh!  I’m very happy with vinyl wood effect flooring, just clearing up after fitter, but he did a good job and has sealed it.  I hope you’ve had a good day. Â
Good evening all. Thank you all for kind words. I really appreciate your concern and support. I feel better today, but not completely recovered.
LB, I'm glad that everything was well at optometrist. Finger crossed that you will be able travel to France soon.
Yvie, it's nice that you had lovely time at Ashwood.
Hazel, Costa del Sofa😂😂
It was very nice day, like whole last week, but this weekend we can again expect snow. I'll retire for tonight. Wish you all a good night and sweet dreams.

Fiancé is booked in for vaccine on Sunday so that’s a weight off my mind.Â
