    Morning

The weather has really turned since the start of the week. It's another cold, dull day.

First garden bin collection day today which I am pleased about as the bin is full to more than capacity.

I am get your dislike of Wednesday's Debs. I hope you manage to get your holidays sorted.

We moved into our home 3 1/2 years ago. When looking I had a wish list and a compromise list and a not bothered about list. One of the top wishes was a nice kitchen. Actually I got all my wishes except the kitchen. I did not want to not have this house just because of the kitchen as all of my boxes were ticked.  The kitchen is dropping to pieces and it is getting worse by the day. All I have wanted is a new kitchen, all I have talked about (I think people are sick of me on about it!). Well we have saved and I am ready to set the ball rolling. I have no energy to do it. I am absolutely dreading it and I am stalling. I am sure next week I will get going with it.

    Have a good day all

Morning Debs, Chive and PR. Hope you manage to get the holiday and massage booked. I'm afraid that massages etc. are the last things I would ever consider - my idea of hell.
I'm so sorry Chive, I meant to ask yesterday how your Mum had gone on with her laser treatment. Hope she has rallied today and that you manage to get both lots of shopping done. PR, I would LOVE a new kitchen as mine is titchy and I never have enough work surfaces. I keep putting it off though as the thought of all the disruption is a bit daunting. Maybe I should bite the bullet too.

@PurpleRose this is a rented house and when the landlords agreed to a new kitchen I was dreading it but it was much quicker and easier than I thought and now I have a kitchen I love. Bite the bullet and go for it, a few weeks inconvenience is worth years of contentment. Be prepared and plan takeaways etc and to set up a mini kitchen elsewhere in the house and it won’t be too bad. I promise!

Here is a picture of my baby cacti. I realised that it would be difficult to see them in the gritty compost so I've circled and arrowed a few. That is also one of the Zaluzianskya cuttings.

Morning everyone, it's very foggy here this morning. Can't see our garden it's so thick.
@Chivetalking hope your mum feels better today.
@PurpleRose think kitchens and bathrooms cause the most upheaval when being done, but well worth it in the end. When we had our kitchen done we chose the slightly warmer months. At least then you can have salads etc and not have to worry about using the oven. As Debs says, we used the microwave and had a few takeaways. You don't want too many pans and dishes to wash up😉 can't remember how long ours took, but I wanted them to put the sink in a completely different place so that added to it. But well worth it in the end. Have fun choosing units etc.
@Ladybird4 the little shoots look very healthy. Hope they all survive.
@debs hope you find your outfit.
@Songbird-1 sounds like a busy morning.
    OHs pilates day again.
Have a good day everyone, take care.

Chive I hope mums eye is settling down.  According to dad it took a few days after, but he is fine now and found his vision so very much improved.  LB it’s always great when we get new life.  Hazel it’s very cold today, bitterly.  Lily my heating was playing up today but after tinkering eventually came on.  I was very thankful.  When my oven became temperamental I used a George Foreman grill which has now ceased to work but served me well.  I now have a halogen which has been very useful and I’ve had for some years.  Always handy to have a microwave, especially if you’re lucky enough to have a Combi.  I’m afraid I’m short of room so just have a small one.

We have a large kitchen diner. The wall between the old kitchen and dining room was knocked down (which has saved a big job) but they bricked up the wrong door so that will need dining initially. I actually like the layout of the current kitchen so I wont be changing that too much, I hope. The utility room will need ripping out and starting again. I will get round to sorting it out. I just keep getting flashbacks to when we had the kitchen done in the old house. It went on and on but then once it was done, I was so pleased so yes it is worth the upheaval.

Chive. I hope your mums eyes are ok soon.
LB I hole your little shoots turn into healthy plants.
