Morning Chive and Debs. I, too, can't wait to see your bumble bee lights Chive. They sound very cute. Debs, a day of reflection for you and your OH. I hope that happy memories can be recalled.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Going to do a bit of 'proper' gardening. Loads of seeds so going to get some stuff started (hopefully).
Enjoy your gardens and the 'egg-chasing' (I love the ethos around the game - respect for the ref and camaraderie after the game. Just can't fathom the rules and was always too much of a wimp to try playing )
Got some seeds planted - broad beans outside and peas, chillis and french marigolds in trays for the windowsill.
I've never seen marigold seeds before so was a little bit surprised when I opened the packet
Topped up the compost bin, the leaf mould dustbin and trimmed quite a lot of 'dead bits' off the multitude of pot-dwellers tucked against the back wall.
Hi all, been out in the garden since 10.30 this morning. Have
spread 10 bags of manure over the borders, moved more pots and resited a
6ft hollow tree trunk which I am going to plant up. The tree man
popped by and trimmed the centre Ivy/Rowan and I spent some time tidying
up after him. He gets most of it up but I like to get all the ivy
berries up so that they don't seed. I am now officially shattered.
Hubby cleaned the cars and helped me tidy up so he's tired too. Think
it's going to be a takeaway for dinner.
Merri
had the results of her many scans yesterday. The consultant says that
she has a twisted fibia and tibia, her knees are out of line and her
hips are curved inward. He says he could straighted it all out but it
would be a massive operation involving breaking most of her bones and
inserting rods. It would mean 6 months in a wheelchair and learning to
walk again. He has suggested that her knees present the bigest problem
so she is going to see a new knee specialist at the Birmingham
Children's hospital. She has a futher appt in July when they will
decide about the knee op. It will mean being on crutches for some weeks
but it's nowhere near as bad as the other op.
@Yviestevie what a worry for her and of course all her family too, let’s hope treatment for arthritis etc improves soon. Sounds like you have been busy.
Quiet day here enjoying the spring sunshine. Listened to highlights of Sir Captain Toms funeral, sad of course but how lovely to have achieved so very much. A good life well lived.
Here is a photo of my own little Tom, wonder what adventures await him.
Yvie I’m sorry to hear news of Merri. The secon option does seem the better of the two. I hope this will be sorted without too much discomfort. I hope the consultant will help. Lovely picture Debs.
Well that rugby was rather disappointing. First off poor old Italy got beaten by Ireland and then an ill disciplined Englad lost to Wales. There was some very dubious refereeing though - Biglad could have done with you there. Yvie it sounds like you have had a very productive day in your garden as has Hazel. Poor young Merri. I agree with RosieBB (good to see you back) that the second option would be the better choice.
Debs, your little Tom is a real cutie.

Might go back out for a rose-pruning session now.
