  • Oh @Yviestevie so sorry to hear your SIL is so poorly. Hopefully they will keep him in for awhile to monitor him and up the medication. Would help your firstborn too, knowing he is being looked after. Sending very best wishes to you and your family.

OH all done and son safely back home too. The snow hasn't stop and is really coming down now. Definitely feels much colder today.
I gave OH paracetamol before he left and will give him some more soon.
Time for a cup of tea.......and maybe a biscuit or two 😉

Yvie  ,sorry to hear that your SIL is no better . It would be good if they looked after him in hospital for a while . There will be doctors to keep checking on him and your daughter will be able to have a rest. I hope he will be better soon and back home .My best wishes to you all .
Lily I am so pleased that your OH is having his jab today . I hope you will have yours soon .
We have tiny grains of snow coming down . It isn’t settling but I think there is more to come.
I have had a very lazy day .

Afternoon everyone, started dinner an hour ago and thought it was taking too long. On closer inspection it seems I’d turned the oven off by mistake and only had the light on 🙄 oops!
@PurpleRose Internet access is essential isn’t it we would be so lost without it now, hope you can get to see your programmes. How is your little finger?
Yvie fingers are firmly crossed for SIL, it’s been a real emotional roller coaster for you all. Best wishes for a good recovery now he has been admitted to hospital.
SGL it sounds like it all went well today, I’m sure you’re relieved OH has had the jab and you can both relax for the rest of the day,
Rubee like the sound of your lazy day, enjoy 😊
Hazel good luck with finding a new mattress, it’s not the same when you can’t bounce up and down on the ones in the store,
    Have a nice evening all.
  • Oh dear Chive. At least you found the reason it was not cooking to be a simple solution. My finger isn't as stiff but still aches, I kind of forget about it and as it is on my right hand, I pick something up and get shooting pains into my hand. Thank you for asking.

Yvie. Sending best wishes to your family. I hope SIL makes a quick recovery now he is in hospital.

SB, I hope you find a bed. Rather difficult as you cannot try them out before buying.

Rubee we are the same with the weather. We are on a hill, less than a mile from the coast. The wind is coming off the sea and having a good old rattle around. Some of the gusts are very strong. We are getting little snowflake showers which are now starting to lay in sheltered bits against walls. I agree, I think there will be more to come. This cold front came skightly later than expected so we are a few hours behind the forecast.

Just been on a tip, supermarket, garden centre run and realised that all the hills around us are snow-covered :o

We must be just below the snow line for this weekend. So far!

Chive thank you, yes, I’ve finished with Lily’s tv and I’m having a cup of tea.  You’ll be glad to finish your endeavour.  Captain Tom will be remembered.  Hazel the bread is all risen and baked and smells lovely.  I was watching a programme about leaving your life in the city and showed peoples changed lives in the countryside.  Challenging but interesting.  Lily good to hear oh has had his vaccine.  Yvie I hope sil will feel better being monitored and treated in hospital.  Sending my best wishes.  LB I hope you’ve been enjoying the rugby.  Hazel I haven’t bought a bed in years so can’t really advise but apparently the Emma has good reviews, but do check yourself depending on what you would like.

Hello all. Yvie, at last some positive treatment for your SIL. I was so pleased to read that when I clocked back in again. I've just finished recovering from the Wales Ireland match which, to be honest, was the best of the three I've watched this weekend. SGL, great to hear that your OH has had his vaccine today. Handy brother had his first one too. PurpleRose, what a pain having no internet - at least you are re-connected now. Pleased to hear that your finger is on the mend too. Oh my goodness Chive, I hope that your meal wasn't too spoiled by the sneaky oven - fancy showing a light when it wasn't actually doing anything! By the way, I think I ought to tell you that you created a marvellous picture in my head when you described bouncing on the mattress in the store. Hazel, I was actually trying out my new mattress - lying on it - when a new customer came into the store. I told her I had been there for two weeks! RosieBB, I bet that baking bread smelt absolutely delish. Biglad, I'm a tiny bit jealous I don't have any snow here. Maybe I'll wake up to some tomorrow morning.

I am signing out . I wish you all sweet dreams .
  • Pleased to hear your finger is improving PurpleRose,
LB I’ll try to resist 😀 love that short video of the dog looking for a space on the bed.
Hazel I’m just glad I wasn’t having a dinner party, thankfully it was all cooked quite quickly once the oven was hot 😅
Goodnight to all, hope you sleep well.
