I was expecting Etoile throw out four ft long laterals, but no, lot of short flower stems so should look great. It basically has the best, sunniest spot in the garden. 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
@Omori - does yousr put on a main flush in May/June and then spits and spots through the rest of the year?
@newbie77 ...people will say there are thousands of Camellias, like roses, and it's almost impossible to distinguish between so many of them... like roses again... but we can whittle things down considerably to just a few, as most people buy what is generally offered, the more popular types.. they are also for the most part, split into two distinct groups.. Camellia x williamsii hybrids and Camellia japonica hybrids... there are others but we don't see them so much..
x williamsii are distinguished by narrower smaller leaves, less glossy foliage.... that is your Camellia.. Japonicas have larger, deep green glossy leaves.. that is not yours..
.. we can also narrow things down by knowing the form of flower.. in your case it's a Peony form...
My best guess would be Camellia x williamsii 'Anticipation'.. some images will show a darker flower than yours, but others much the same...
In your collage posted earlier, you have 3 williamsiii hybrids, and 1 japonica, which is the one bottom left.. it may be one of the Nuccio series or one called 'Desire' I'm not sure.. the one top right may be 'Debbie'... trouble is, like roses, some Camellias are sold by outlets simply as Camellia 'Red'.. or Camellia 'Pink'.. heaven knows what they are, but your collection above look more like bona fide named varieties to me..
@Marlorena, thanks a lot for your detailed reply. Very informative. Camellia x williamsii 'Anticipation' does look very similar to this one so that would be it. I would get another one, as I really like it.
Camellia japonica Desire is right as this one I planted. I had forgotten the name and now I recollect after you told me. Camellia x williamsii 'Debbie' is also looking very similar to my camellia.

Small Tortoiseshell today
Bright sunshine here and I have washed loads of bedding today 😂
This is another photo of my favourite Camellia showing leaves. It flowers in March. I will be very grateful if you could identify it.
I have got sulphate of potash and liquid seaweed to try this year.

Yes I do feel like a mad scientist this year @newbie77, brewing up potions!
