Gorgeous @newbie77 - I especially like the one in the big photo with the ruffly blooms, which one is that?

Following an earlier alfalfa tea feed with added magnesium, iron and fish emulsion, gave all my roses a good drink of seaweed extract this morning. This is my new feeding regime and I will be repeating the alfalfa tea after the first flush, plus adding potassium sulfate for a bloom boost prior to each flush. Be interesting to see how they do on the new diet. Just as well I decided to experiment this year, as can’t get hold of any decent branded rose food anyway!

@Nollie, yes that camellia is my favourite too. Unfortunately I don't know which type as it was already in the garden when we moved to the house. It has tree like growth habit and spent flowers drop neatly. Foliage is light green.

It would be great to know how your roses do with this feeding plan.

@Mr. Vine Eye, all my pots are similar type from B&Q. Once the plants are bigger and flowering, you wont notice the pot much. Mine have been around for almost 5-6 years, have gone through a house move, they are chipped a bit at edges but still going on.

Your plants are looking nice, may be you can keep them in a bit of shade for next couple of sunny days.

...on isn't that funny how we both got Peacock butterflies....  ants can be detrimental to roses unfortunately, but I'm a live and let live person, so .. but an ants nest in a roses root system will cause it to stop blooming and lose vigour until the ants move out.... I think they harm the roots by tunnelling and causing air pockets... they affect own root roses, and newly planted grafted roses,  more severely in my experience..  established ones, not so much...

I've seen lots of ladybirds today too...

Lovely to see the wildlife. Marlorena, your Mutabilis is a gem. I’m still holding out hope that mine does something 🤞 One big cane is still green but no sign of any growth.

Gave my newly planted roses a bit of a drink ahead of the warm weather tomorrow.

All of my pots are the fake terracotta plastic as well...would like nice ones one day but for now these are fine.

...fingers crossed still - they've been crossed for about a month now ..lol.. @Omori

..do hope it recovers, it will be such a shame if it doesn't but perhaps you'll get a 'proper' one later on if not..

...I've just ordered 'Golden Beauty' - potted...
