@Omori I hope your Boscobel does ok. Are own roots usually much different?
@Nollie love that dark bud, it almost looks black.
@Tack clematis look really good. I've never ordered from that company before. Looking at our week ahead I think our lowest night time temp is +3 so we're not doing too bad this far south.
@Lizzie27 your Isaphan looks an absolute beast. How long have you had it?
Both of you have now reminded me as to why I did not fall in love with SWE when I saw it more than a year ago .. what I do remember was that the scent did not particularly stand out (though DA rated it strong old rose) and the blooms looking a little tatty - which is in keeping with Nollie’s observation. I have decided I won’t be getting another new rose this year.. that gives me a bit more time to contemplate my choices for next year.
Was enjoying the view yesterday after my night shift.. the weather has been glorious this week!
And my newly planted Roseraie de l’Hay.. I do hope it will appreciate this particularly windy spot on my balcony..
Wow, Adrian. That is an incredible display! Like Chelsea. I'm so glad you went for bulbs. Have the winds of the last two months been tricky so high up?
My roses seem to be growing well despite the cold nights, here are three of them...Thomas a Beckett (I think) on the left, with Bonica.. Chianti...DA's very first red 1967, apparently...romping away and very healthy so far. This should grow to a monster 6'x5'...but not in the pot.

Sparrow allies are very diligent, even working on the little bare roots.
You continue to tempt me with that lovely Marie Pavie.
Now how can I justify adding a slight pink?...
