    @Tack @Mr. Vine Eye Tea Leaves?  Used or fresh?  Never heard of that before but gosh that I can do... I have a seemingly infinite supply of teabags right now with full time WFH!

    On the subject of foliar feed I have recently started using SB plant invigorator - not necessarily for the foliar feed part but for aphid control - since it’s marketed as organic. So far I’ve sprayed twice as the infestation was alarming given its so early in the season and so far so good. Does anyone here have experience with this product ?

    Not the product you have mentioned above, but I have used 3G spray - ginger, garlic and green chillies paste diluted in water - to control aphid infestation and they worked effectively. Ginger-garlic paste is available in all supermarkets in the Asian section and you can add some green chillies and pound/mix them with your mortar/pestle.

    And then my heart with pleasure fills,
    And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)

    ...those are coming along.. even the Portland doesn't look too bad.. I've got a couple of Austins like that.. I'm looking forward to seeing Noella, it's not one I know really..

    @cooldoc2000
    ..yeah I have a few oldies.. it's good to mix things up I think..
    @celcius_kkw
    ..waiting to see yours Adrian... we need an update..

    ..just to say.. re tea leaves/coffee grounds.. if using, make sure they are spent with the liquid squeezed out of them..  otherwise too much nitrogen I gather..

    DA sell SB Invigorator and use it on their roses... I spoke to their Head Gardener on Instagram and he told me about it... as a non-sprayer it's the only product I would consider using..

    @Tack
    ..delighted you're getting Mme IP... hope it does well for you.. mine is shooting out all over..

    I use used, we have a plentiful supply too. I also use my coffee grounds, acidifying my alkaline soil is good I think particularly as I have very hard tap water.  But I make sure the coffee doesn't touch the plant stems.

    Edit. This was for @JessicaS but yes, Marlorena very used, we like strong tea and coffee

    @Marlorena - I think mine will have had plenty of drying time by now!

  • Can i just check -- are the used up (dried out) tea leaves and coffee grounds particularly useful for roses? or just in general?

    I don't know @Desi_in_London I only put them in the proximity of the roses but it was only in regards to roses I read about. If I think I'm overdoing the dosing I put them in the general compost so everything benefits!
    That looks like a great haul @Marlorena . I hope they all do well for you. Planning a bed from scratch sounds exciting but I would be daunted while I'm sure you can envisualise it beautifully.
  • Agreed, a great haul of new plants there @Marlorena, very exciting.

    I didn't know/realise you had Rose de Rescht @Nollie.  I'll be keeping a beady eye on its progress as I've tentatively chosen it for a permanent pot.
