    ..nice of you to say that @Fire..  we do our best to keep it going..

    @Omori
    up to you but I wouldn't move them..  they will soon bounce back once this is over.. my Hydrangeas are worst affected but this can't be the first April that's got a series of frosts although it does seem like the whole month..

    Thanks @Marlorena for your advice, will be much easier to leave them. Lovely to have surprise flowers, maybe you should be grumpy more often  ;)

    @Fire I agree, and on that note, if there are any rosey lurkers, feel free to join in anytime.

    That's a good name for a band "The Rosey Lurkers". :)

    @JessicaS your garden is really starting to fill out it's  looking very good now and we are only at the start of the season. Hope to see photos when your roses are in flower.

    Knowledgeable members of this thread, any idea why aphids seem to prefer only certain roses? Out of the many I have, Wisley and an unknown HT are covered with aphids whereas the ones adjacent are seemingly not affected. Yesterday evening I sprayed these roses with ginger-garlic, today morning again they're covered with aphids. I don't like to squish the aphids, I would rather they left the roses alone. Any martyr plants I can plant next to them?

    @Eustace I think it's more about the preferences of ants (for their nests and access). Aphids don't have much say in it. At least here, it's ants running the show.

    Has anyone grown Sweet Syrie or Starlight Symphony climbers?  Any photos would be good as I'm not sure of their growth habit?

    @edhelka any advice on what to do about ants/aphids problem? Something that doesn’t involve use of chemicals...
