The new wood man rang, he's coming with logs tomorrow morning.

It's been a nice day, I went and bought some sacks of compost and horse manure to prepare or the sunshine forecast next week. Itching to do something in the garden. I also looked round 2 local tile shops for floor tiles or the future utility room and study. Very few people about today, we aren't in lockdown here.

This afternoon I finished unpacking in the 2 spare rooms and cleaned them. Kept meaning to do it but hadn't got around to it.

The tiles I like are in a different shop further away that tiling man doesn't deal with.

Ha!  No sun forecast here next week @Busy-Lizzie except for a few hours that won't get warmer than 4C.   I do like that ladder and pots display but it wouldn't last 5 minutes with our menagerie.  Bonzo's waggy tail or one of the cats would have that lot smashed in no time.

  • Hurrah @Hostafan1, what a relief for you. I can't bear being cold so had every sympathy with you.

@Busy-Lizzie it must be nice planning a new room from scratch, good to have a blank canvas, but then there's always the problem of too many choices. 😅

I've got two decorators coming to give me quotes tomorrow, now the wallpaper has been stripped back they can at least see what state the walls are in (bad), possibly need skimming or some such thing, one has mentioned " dot and dabbing" whatever that might be. 🤔🙄

My friend in hospital has made great progress this week, thankfully. I was so shocked last week at the state of him, but he's had a couple of 'procedures' and is looking and feeling much better. They are letting him come home on Saturday for one night only ( with a carer present) to see how he manages. He's having hand rails etc. fitted where necessary. It's such a long slow process, he had his stroke on the 15th of December. Always cheerful though, bless him.

Seedlings safely undercover tonight, they've enjoyed the sunshine but clear skies mean possibility of frost tonight.

Good forecast coming up though over the weekend. Hoping to really get stuck into some weeding and digging over flowerbeds.

Got a phone call about half an hour ago - would I like a Covid vaccination? Yes please! Friday morning slot booked. I thought it would be another 2 or 3 weeks before they got to my level on the priority list but I am not complaining :)

Great news @Steephill. I had mine about ten days ago so hope to be covered in another ten or so. Freedom, here I come!
