Yet some do it well - Alan Titchmarsh was a really good CFS presenter. Mr Beardshaw has excellent TV and horticultural credentials. There are others who would do well but, for some reason, the Beeb still thinks they need a "face" to present the daily bland of CFS.
Maybe now Covid has got so many more people out in their gardens the Beeb'll wake up and smell the roses and give us a decent, well-informed presenter. I don't think the viewers will be frightened by someone asking intelligent questions and not trying to appear dumb.

It’s all very well wanting someone with horticultural knowledge etc ... but speaking live to camera whilst listening to the director talking to you through an arpiece is a skill few professional horticulturists have acquired.
I suppose that may be true, but surely the answer is the try harder?
It's like Opera, I'd rather watch a superb singer acting a bit poorly , than a poor singer acting superbly.
I'd rather watch a slightly hammy knowledgeable presenter than a wonderful presenter who clearly knows sod all.
