I guess RHS are not making sure everyone in attendance has been vaccinated, so I'll pass thank you. "should make it safer." isn't safe enough to get me there.
Personal choice I guess @Hostafan1 but, once vaccinated, most people are going to want to go back to "as normal as possible" and that includes big flower shows - better than a rave or shopping in the sales!

I'm not sure that a crowd as densely packed as CFS is safer than " a rave or shopping in the sales!" but we'll agree to disagree. Nobody knows how long the vaccine will give protection , nor does anyone claim it offers 100% immunity and nobody knows how many will refuse to have it. Too many unknowns for me.
There will be reduced numbers and 6 days instead of 5. I'd love to go but not practical for me either given the need for travel and lodgings and coping with whatever restrictions are still in place then.
I'm rather hoping Monty Don errs on your side of caution and we get a new presenter for the Beeb coverage - as long as it's not Joe Swift.

Yes. Had to give up watching the midday show cos of her.
Ditto. Why can't they get someone who actually KNOWS the subject matter. Sophie Rayworth is lovely, but she know's very little about the subject. Surely a former exhibitor or nurseryman, or garden designer might not waffle pointless as some of the other " presenters " do? Would they have some randon " celebrity " present Match of the day even if they knew nothing about football? I think not.
I think the lunchtime coverage is aimed at a more general audience and the evening more towards keen gardeners. If Nicky Chapman brings in higher viewing figures that helps the BBC keep covering it, that's good enough for me (I tend to record the daytime programmes anyway because I'm usually working then, so I fast-forward through any bits that I don't enjoy). Going to the Chelsea show in person hasn't ever really appealed to me - too crowded, too far for a day trip, no plant shopping. Depending on the Covid situation I might take myself up to Harrogate for the autumn show this year though, or maybe the Harlow Carr one in July. Too soon to plan really.

She seems to be very popular. I don't see it, myself, but they must have a reason for giving her the job. Same for other "celebrity" presenters and guests. And I did say "if".
I really liked the online videos that the RHS had last year with nursery-people doing little talks. Real experts, not celebs. More of that would be great, online or on the BBC.

Is there any evidence that her presence, or that of any other " celebrities " increases viewer numbers?
