I don't mind dusting. It means you don't have time to do the mucky jobs like cleaning the oven .

Sad that preventing an uplift which could have a really beneficial effect to those pensioners on low incomes is viewed by some as a reason to be cheerful.
there are other ways to help poor pensioners, but why are we giving rich pensioners 8% more ?

Because they'll pay tax on it if, with their other huge pensions, it takes them over the tax threshold.

Some of us only have very small pensions.

I've already said I  damp dust
That had better be a Hoover then,my teeth itch when folk talk about hoovering instead of vacuuming. My certain make Pet model has 13 attachments, but the husband is specifically designed for removing top cobwebs

And re dusters ... dusters that are made of suitable material ... and used properly (i.e. slightly damp) don't just move dust around, they 'hold' it ... then you shake it out of the window.

Hosta,I had a little rise to my state pension this year, have a small work pension,it put me into the tax bracket,so was pointless

As I've already said. Poor pensioners need help, Rich pensioners don't. Hopefully the money saved can be used to more fairly distribute monies.
It's unsustainable to give all pensioners 8% payrises when virtually nobody else is getting anything like that.

Me too but you don't need an extendable stick on a toilet brush. Well we don't anyway.

I have one of those @B3 with a telescopic handle which is handy for high ceilings such as above a stair case.    As for dusting, I've been doing it with a damp cloth for years which gets rinsed, not shaken out the window, but I need a tickling stick for radiators and awkward corners.  Never try vaccing under beds any more.  That's what the robot is for.

RTBC?  2nd knee jab done so only one more to go for another year.  He really is a condescending prat especially when I ask questions and I can't work out whether it's just his way or because I'm female or British or maybe all 3.  The dentist is his polar opposite in manner and willingness to explain and advise.
