I did my water filters last week - as you say, a job always best put off until tomorrow. My next bout of cheerfulness will come when the Christmas decorations are put up. The gardener has just brought in boxes and boxes of the things from the shed. They’re all now stacked in the Futility Room scowling at me.

In tidying up the shed a little she also unearthed about a 70 plates and bowls. They’re mostly inherited (aka house clearance) ones that fall into the just-in-case category. In this case if we have a party and we’re too posh to have paper plates. Yeah, right. Most of those guests will also be able to sit down because there are also enough dining and garden chairs in there to accommodate a medium-sized orchestra.

I think it was Nick Robinson on R4 this morning who said that Sajid was booked to talk about the vaccine anniversary, but he then called off. Maybe even he couldn't then justify or still keep with the party line of 'anonymous story - unsubstantiated' that Raab was peddling on Sunday. PM's questions will be Boris waffling - but even his back benchers are now asking for answers.

Sajid was supposed to be on BBC Breakfast at about 7:30 this morning and didn't show up.  They showed the empty studio where a Government minister has been almost every day for the last year!

Why is anyone surprised they're not putting their heads above the parapet?   They'll be looking at their prospects and alliances for the election of a new leader when Boris finally has to step down.   Sooner rather than later I hope cos government by clown and clod is not edifying.

Thank goodness I can't easily tune in to French TV and politics or I'd get really depressed instead of being bemused (when not horrified).

I thought this was supposed to be the cheerful thread?

I'm cheerful (am I the only one?) because I had a rather good though tough massage this morning. My shoulder is protesting quietly so I am taking it easy (again!) with my laptop, a cup of tea and a choccy biscuit

I'm cheerful that even the most stupid, blinkered , dyed in the wool Tory supporters must accept that Bojo and his other clowns are all liars and cowards.

New bath mixer tap turned up early. See tomorrow's Curmudgeon thread after I try to fit it.
