LB I am going to do my bird watch in the morning over a cup of tea and some breakfast. I really enjoy doing it every year.
My time slot for the Sky Engineer was between 12 and 5. He called about 12.10 and said he was on his way. It was all done by 12.45. He couldn't come indoors so I had to set the box up myself while he tinkered with the Satilite dish. He then came back and stood at the living room window to talk me through the set up. I quite enjoyed getting involved.
Hello PurpleRose. Yes, I enjoy doing the birdwatch every year too. I've been a member of the RSPB more years than I care to remember and sadly over the 30+ years I've lived here I've noticed the disappearance of quite a few species that I did see regularly. There used to be lapwings and skylarks in the field at the bottom of my garden but not any more and it has been several years now since I heard a cuckoo in Spring. Greenfinches numbers have been decimated by trichomonosis so last year just seeing one in the garden was wonderful (not during the big garden birdwatch though). I hope that tomorrow brings plenty in even if they are just the usual suspects.
Well done for getting your box set up. Will they pay you engineer's fees?
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
LB it will be lovely doing the bird watch. It’s a real shame numbers have dwindled. I hope you sleep well. PurpleRose you must be relieved to get sorted and good the engineer could advise. Goodnight everyone.
Good morning Chive and all to arrive later. Chive, had I known you were up I could have had a little chat. I woke up once but got back to sleep again and actually had a better sleep last night than the one before. I hope you are asleep now. I was texting my Australian brother first thing as I heard that Perth, where he is, has gone into a snap 5 day lockdown as a security guard at one of the quarantine hotels had tested positive for the UK variant.

Good morning Chive, LB and all to follow. My Windows are updating. Few moments already last one hour. Time for tea. Rain and wind outside. Have a lovely Sunday!
