Hazel - good news on the family Covid front but so sorry to hear your other news. Always a shock to hear of a friend's passing.

In a similar vein I watched the live stream of my cousin's funeral this afternoon. He died of a heart attack a month ago and was a similar age to me (mid 60's). Brings it home...

LB - so pleased to hear you've got your jab dates. I think you are quite fortunate being able to arrange the second one now. Most people I've heard of have to wait to be invited again.

I was also surprised that Hazel was able to take her OH straight home. I thought they were still monitoring people for 15 mins for allergic / other adverse reactions. MIL certainly had to wait even though she had someone with her. Maybe different areas have different rules.

Thanks girls. I wasn't at all close to my cousin (we have always lived at least 200 miles apart) but the families did meet up in the summer hols when we were kids so he was a part of my childhood. Just makes you feel a little sad doesn't it?

On the good news front I have made Indonesian pork for dinner. A real favourite and this one is rather spicy (6 bird's eye chillis). Looking forward to it!

    Fire and G&T time first!

    Evening everyone,
Topbird sorry to hear the news of your cousin, it does bring it home to you.
Gosh your dinner sounds a hot one 🥵
    Have a nice evening all.

Oh yum T'Bird. I am a real fan of chillies especially the hotter versions. Fire and G&T sounds the very thing to start your evening. These are one of the plant varieties where I think 'Why on earth are they so hot? What is the purpose of that heat?'

Evening folks,  Had some bad news re Firstborn, unfortunately she has taken a turn for the worse.  They wanted to take her to hospital but she has refused.  She is now on antibiotics for a secondary infection and is being monitored by something called Covid Watch.  No idea what it is or how it works.  I'm worried sick and can't believe how helpless I feel.

Hazel great news that 23 and mum tested negative for covid.   Lily that is a pain.  Could you have a taxi and open the window to keep ventilated?  LB good news you can now make an appointment for your vaccination.  Chive the vacuum will need some more tampering.  It looks the part though 🙄.  Top bird sorry to hear your news, very sobering in these times and without them.
