Afternoon everyone, rather late on today. Had an awful nights sleep, was awake most of the night. Did nod off around 6 o'clock and then woke up almost 10.30. But still felt so very tired. Had a very lazy couple of hours and now I feel more like me. @debs64 your evening meal sounds delicious, 😋😋 Sorry to be nosey, but did you meet your lovely fiancè. How is your arm now, hope its not aching any more. Sorry about work changes, hope everything gets sorted soon. @Songbird-1 sorry to hear 23 and his mummy are poorly. Hope tests come back negative. Keeping everything crossed 🤞 Rosie, sorry you had a bad nights sleep too. Chive, hope you've had a good day at work and this week hasn't been too stressful. LB, you were a busy bee today. Oops re soil and plant situation 🤭🤭 I've now forgotten everything else, sorry. Just going to pop the kettle on, anyone for tea and biscuits ☕🍪🍪
Keeping my fingers crossed for you and yours Hazel.
Little Mabel is bouncing around like a cricket, no symptoms at all but the others are still feeling poorly. Nothing exciting happening here today I have been mainly planning when to sow seeds and watching TV, although I did have a long chat with my Bestie. Hope everyone is OK.
Afternoon all. It's been a very wet 12 hours or so and all our local roads are flooded to varying degrees. Wouldn't normally be too worried except I have an appt this evening with the physio in the next village about my arm which (3 months on) is still playing up - a lot.
First appt with her so I really don't want to be late or cancel. I've just been busy making phone calls around the village trying to plot a safe route out. Should only have to drive through one bit of flood water which is now starting to recede. None of it is dangerous flood water (just water pouring off the fields and overflowing ditches) but it's deep enough in places to flood a small car engine....
Hazel - hope everything is ok for your family.
LB - You're a mucky pup aren't you??
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
I hope all those with family showing symptoms of COVID will soon be feeling better .Lily I hope that you have a better night .LB you are not supposed to throw garden rubbish at yourself .Don’t want you sprouting seedlings .TBird please take care driving through the run off , don’t want you to get stuck.
I meant to ask earlier Hazel, have you plans for your wool? Sorry that your arm is still giving you trouble T'Bird. Handy brother, who walks every day when the weather is OK has had to modify several of his walks due to floods. A small bridge he crosses on one of the walks is now underwater. That would be ideal for my underwater pond.
No longer mucky pup but scrubbed and polished.
I can now sit down and put my feet up.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I went to Lidls and got one of their veggie boxes that they sell for £1.50. Wow!! What was crammed in it was well worth what I paid. A woman even stopped me to ask about it and was gobsmacked at the price and the contents. Anyway, to cut a long story short there is a red cabbage in there. Never bought one before so did ot know what to do with it. Been on Google and I am pickling it. I have got some jars ready which will be sterilised before adding the contents. I am quite excited about it really as I love pickles.
SGL I hope you have a good sleep tonight. Horrid being tired.
Top bird I hope that the flooding goes down so that you have a safe journey

Oh yum PurpleRose, your own pickled red cabbage - fantastic. Tell you what, that sounds like a bargain box of veggies too. I'll make a note. When will 23 and his Mum get the test results Hazel?
p.s. yoo hoo Chive, you snuckered in.

I have never thought about making my own pickled red cabbage and I do like it too.
Ladybird. Lidls started doing these boxes about a 1 year -18 months ago. It is pot luck what you get in them. They are full of things they cant sell. I've had a bag of apples that was open, a six pack of tomatoes with one missing, red cabbage, ripe fruit or veg. I think it's a cracking idea. Lidls would have probably thrown it out. Instead it is sold for a nominal amount, saves it going into landfill. The customer gets a bargain plus you find stuff in there that you dont usually buy so you get new ideas and recipes to use the veg up. In our Lidls they are near the checkout. Sometimes they have loads, sometimes 1 or 2 sometimes none at all.
