Yes LB, knew it would be because Chey is in the vunerable bracket, but that's still quite a few weeks ahead in this area. But yes, good he's able to have it. My OH is in the extremely vunerable group too, but we think it won't be for another few weeks yet. Still doing the 80s here. Glad you had a lovely walk.
LB it’s still bright sunshine here. 🌝. It’s good to look 👀 out in the garden. I hope you see some new life. 🍀Lily I’m not having a walk today. I’m just having a rest as I didn’t sleep 🛌very well but 😊 thank you.
You're right Rosie - it is nice to look out at the garden especially when there are a few birds around. I've done just over an hour on my hands and knees which was enough. I'm not cold exactly but I have dwippy dose and the tips of my fingers are tingling. Good to breath some fresh air though and my little robin turned up within a few minutes and followed me round. There are clear signs the muntjac has been grazing the borders 🤬
Chey is very fortunate to be in an area where they are able to vaccinate the over 70's and clinically vulnerable. Suffolk has the worst rate for vaccinations - as of yesterday only 36% of the over 80's had been done. Surgeries are having problems getting the vaccine apparently. Hopefully things will improve.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Talk about the best laid plans ....... As I was planning the big tidy up in the garden, firstly the rain started, closely followed by hail and then snow. Joy! Confined to barracks again. I am so glad I got to the postbox before all that happened. T'Bird, I am studiously avoiding looking too closely at the windows. The insides have been done but the outsides have several birdie signatures and general grime. They will have to figure somewhere on the 'to do' list but very near the bottom I think.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Afternoon All, sorry for my absence it’s just been a difficult week for lots of reasons, but now i can relax for a couple of days. Pleased to see some good news on the vaccinations starting for Rubee & OH and Chey, I hope more are included soon. You are all keeping busy with different things, hope you are all keeping well. I noticed today some signs of life in the garden, bulbs popping up and buds forming on bare branches it really is lovely to see.
Just to reassure you I have been told by someone who knows his stuff that the vaccine has over 65% effectiveness after first dose and the thinking is that by delaying the second dose for up to 12 weeks the protection will go up to 90% and possibly last as long as 5 years so it’s being done to boost immunity. I am having my vaccine on Monday, frankly I hate the thought as I have a real needle phobia but I so want life to go back to normal and people to feel safe and happy.
Snowing heavily here luckily I have no real plans for the weekend.
It has been lovely here today, nice and bright nut freezing cold. It has been so lovely to have winter sunshine. So much better than the dark dull days.
When I got in from work earlier, I popped down to the compost heap to empty my kitchen caddy. I was like you Chive, having a look at the bulbs coming through. We have a few snow drops in flower and I can see lots of other bulbs poking through. Love seeing this, to me it means that we are on the home straight to spring and summer.
Debs, I hope your jab isnt too traumatic. Needles dont really bother me but a very good friend is petrified and she gets herself in a right state over injections.
Songbird, I bet it was lovely to have a bit of time outside. One of my beds seems to be like you have described yours. We have heavy clay soil which just keeps water stationary. Some work will have to be put in to get it sorted too. We live on a hill and I overlook quite a few houses. I did notice that the first garden at the bottom of the hill has collected a lot of water, in fact it's like a lake in one part. I hope that it does go soon.
