I've already said welcome back @Hostafan1 on another thread but am happy to say it again 'welcome back' Hosta. Did you have lots of rain last night and is your polytunnel safe? Looking forward to more pics of your lovely garden soon.
Glad you too are safe @Punkdoc and hope the snow doesn't make things more difficult.
It does seem a lot more cheerful this morning, after heavy rain, we now have sunshine and my Katherine Hodgin irises are just blooming.
We only went for a short drive, to keep the car battery topped up. My OH is taking a friend for her vaccine tomorrow & she hadn't used the car since before Christmas ! Gone from thinking no-one was about (hangovers from the party?) to 4 pages. Welcome back @Hostafan1 so glad to see you. I've been wanting to ask you, when is the beat time to divide some Hostas I have, they are in big pots but getting a bit congested. Thanks again to @punkdoc for the party just what we needed, glad the water is receding.
Thank you @Allotment Boy, very kind of you. I find the best time to split them is when you see the new " bullets " emerging in Spring as you can see where the shoots are and make the best decision on where to cut.
In reality , you're safe to dig them up , even in mid Summer , and split them. Not ideal, but doable.
Greetings Forkers, especially @Hostafan1. Good to see you again. It's 9C here and very blustery and wet so a way to go before we can send any your way.
Did the weekly shop this am and it was very quiet which is good. Apart from popping down to see the chooks I'll be hibernating in the sewing room for the next few days which are set to continue soggy with wind warnings.
Stay safe everyone. And dry!

Thanks @Hostafan1 I will be doing it soon then as they are already on the move, early I know but then everything is this year again.
I have about 700-800 in a polytunnel which I want to move / split this Spring. Mercifully there's about 5 or 6 weeks between the earliest and latest to "wake up".
Another bit of hectic goings on, typical nothing to do for weeks and then all happens in one day.... kitchen worktops arrived yesterday, 5 X 3 metre long sections, I've visited my poorly friend in hospital and am now collecting the rest of the new kitchen units on the way back. Just found myself a layby with coffee on offer. It's sad to see all the workmen alongside me hunched up in their vans trying to eat lunch - so against the grain of the French. It's pouring with rain so they can't even eat picnic style on the ever present picnic tables.
I did manage to watch the inauguration yesterday, very moved by the young poet. Glad to see the back of Trump, thank goodness. Sorry I missed the party I was yoga - ing.
Some takeaway meals tomorrow then the preparation starts for the further upgrading of the kitchen at CdeG. At least there's no pressure of time. 🤔
Seedlings are being a bit temperamental, some are fine but others have shriveled up and died for no obvious reason, possibly over watered, possibly too warm indoors, I'm putting the next lot straight in the greenhouse after germinating, we'll see. At least they were free.
Right back into the rain to load up these units - joy. 😱🙂
I'll catch you all up later. 😘😘😘

The surgery is a distant memory thankfully. Genuinely I did have to think " which op?" for a second.
I'm glad I'm " feeling up" to joining in again.
