@debs64 I guess it depends on how you feel about freedom of speech, censorship and privacy.
People are leaving in droves along with a couple of other popular platforms.

We also no longer have "normal" tv
I wonder if I should even frequent this site.
I would get sensored and probably banned.
So stick to gardening and trying to be helpful to people who like or want to garden ....mostly.

I think Liriodendron's suggestion was to publicly shame the phone company. To do that, if you wish to, you do need to use a platform where there are lots of public... eg Twitter. I doubt companies would be too bothered if criticised on a platform with a comparatively tiny number of users, especially when a high proportion are right-wing conspiracy theorists and other Qanon-alikes. So to use them for such a purpose would be counter-productive, whatever your thoughts about Twitter.

I don’t ever “tweet” I just use it to check news stories. Best not to read the comments I find.

It can be hellish (c.f. Trump at al), but also extraordinarily useful / positive / informative etc. That said, I rarely tweet, mainly read.

I gave up after five minutes and I’ve not missed much, if Donald Trump is a typical example of a tweeter.

Some Twitter users are tweeters. Others are just twits.

I thought of a name is thought was clever at the time. Had a look. Moved on.

I prefer here. Any other sites that I've lurked in seem to be peopled by people that  would avoid in real life. I would quite like to meet some of you in real life .

Apparently the changes in T&Cs around data sharing causing people to leave Twitter don't apply to the UK or EU which currently have stronger protection measures in place. How long that will last in the UK is anybodies guess though.

I've just been watching a squirrel tucking into next door's  camelia buds. It's only going for the ones that are just about to burst into flower.

Priti Patel is doing the Downing Street briefing this evening. Does anyone care to place a bet on how many letter Gs she’ll drop?

Squirrels like my camellia buds too. I think the deer is joining them.
