I remember three foods from childhood that promised a lot but always disappointed. Angel Delight seemed so appealing until you’d finished and, when your tongue went to the roof of your mouth, you thought you’d got a cat’s tongue.
Then at Christmas there was always a tin of biscuits and, by Easter, those pink and white wafers were still in it, uneaten. Nobody in our house was that desperate.
Most disappointing of all were French fancies. In their pastel colours they reminded you of Weekend chocolates. And best of all, or so you perpetually hoped, was that blob of cream on top. Except it wasn’t cream, it was a pustule, no a wen, of some chemical experiment that should never have been repeated.
I think most of my food dislikes come from texture too @Hostafan1 I also hate refried beans and mushy peas. Mashed potato is fine providing it's not too sloppy.
Oh I'm OK with soft fruit love it all. I'm growing strawberries and raspberries for the first time this year.
I loved growing strawberries last year, we have some seedlings on our windowsill which have started to pop up, we got six seeds in the pack I'm quite tempted to get another packet!
I'm weird with textures, so Avocado and aubergine are both out. Hate porridge. What's to like? horrible flavour, horrible texture . Looks like some sort of cement. I pretty much hate all offal ( textures again )
Lol.. I'm with you on the Advocado and the Aubergine @Hostafan1 but, we differ on the porridge I love it on a cold winters morning must be the Gaelic in me, bit of Jock gene in the family line I believe.

Back to foods I've just remembered my real hate Mexican- refried beans, look like someone has already chewed & spat them out. Ugh.
