  • I forgot to say, apparently one of Dido's latest gems was,Ā  telling a select committee that no one could have predicted the virus would mutate.Ā  IĀ  mean if you know nothing you should say nothing- surely.Ā

has she ever done a really good job at any time in her history? apart from mixing in the right circles ?

  • At least Grayling was elected ... Dido is really just a public schoolgirl with no real talent but schmoozing with other public school types ... ring a bell anyone?

The one tiny point in her favour is that she’s not been taking a salary ... but I’d rather we’d paid quite a lot to someone who could do the job ... or could even understand the basic requirements.Ā

But don’t feel sorry for her ... she won’t be living on bread and scrape ... she earns plenty from her other part time jobsĀ

They must have presumably "known" the area, the old man says it's cold there even in the summer, on the north sea, you wouldn't pluck it out of the air as a must have visit in a storm, I think a 10k fine would be par.Ā  Probably cost 100 for the search and rescue

The decision to drive to Norfolk was ridiculous and a fine is appropriate. But equally ridiculous was the decision to deploy all those coastguard resources. Such poor decision making needs to be investigated.

@BenCotto Ā There’s beenĀ several deaths from the beaches in that area in recent months. Better to mount the search in daylight and stand a chance of finding them alive rather than put it off and Ā then be searching all night ... that’d cost even more.Ā

Or are you saying that people going onto Norfolk beaches go there at their own risk and won’t be searched for and rescued in the event that they don’t return when expected?Ā  :/

The other point is that the beach along there is being particularly closely monitored because of the breeding colony of seals who have pups there at the moment. Ā There are quite a few Coastwatch and other volunteers stationed there keeping an eye on the colony and they have reported problems from visitors harassing the seals and the activities of all visitors to the beaches are rightly being scrutinised.Ā
