My good lady has loads of Christmas ornaments which use button batteries. Most needed replacing this year and I was shocked at how many had expanded since last use. Thankfully none had actually exploded.
Yikes again - we keep our old batteries in a plastic container on the windowsill. I'd better go and find a glass one. Do you think it reacted to the pewter?
I would move them off the window sill as heat from the sun (little as there is currently) won't help. I would leave them in plastic as you won't get shards of glass flying everywhere if a battery does explode.
Right click, save a copy and attach it in a mail or message.
Re batteries - we are given little cardboard containers in which t store spent batteries in a cool place before taking them to the recycling centre. Been like that for 20+years and never yet gone bang.
