Good morning all. Dry here at the moment which is good as I need to pop to post office and get these cards sent, never left it so late before hope they all arrive.
More presents to wrap today, fiancé is off and planning to make Jerusalem artichoke soup. We grew them on the allotment and he reckons they make the best soup ever so we will see. Big son made apple and rosemary jelly on Sunday with allotment produce and I have lots of cherry tomatoes in the freezer for chutney but that will have to wait until after Christmas now.
Thinking of making a photo album of mom for my sister but not sure if it will upset her, I have lots of photos and a nice album but I don’t want her to spend another Christmas Day crying. What do people think? It’s the anniversary tomorrow I am worried about her as her husband is working. I am at work all day too.
Hope everyone has a good day planned.
  • Good Morning LB & Rubee and all to follow,
LB Thank you yes the days are passing very quickly 😀 it will be nice to meet your new furry friends, hope Jack and his daughter have a lovey time away,
Rubee Hope the office work goes well, not so bad to do on a wet gloomy day and you can have a tea break anytime you like ☕️
    Enjoy your day everyone.

Morning Debs and Chive. Debs I think that is a lovely idea for your sister but if it were me I would leave off giving it to your sister until, perhaps, New Year's Day. You could always say, that as 2020 has been so awful you didn't want to make things more difficult at Christmas time but starting a new year with a lot of bitter sweet yet lovely memories might help you all move on from the loss. Just a thought Debs. x

LB that’s exactly what fiancé said, I got a box of photos of mom when we were clearing her room at nursing home so there are lots that sister won’t have seen in ages. I am going to fill an album and give them to her after Christmas. A New Year’s Day gift sounds perfect. Thanks for the advice.

    Morning all,

Just skimmed through and the delivery issues struck a nerve :o I just wish they were more realistic with their estimations. My last delivery was scheduled every day for 8 working days. I don't care when the goods get delivered until a specific time/date is communicated. Then I'm just being lied to and feel the need to be staring at the front drive 24-7 :(

Without knowing the exact circumstance and feelings @debs64, it's hard to say. Personally, I'd love a photo album of either of my parents. I would probably cry but feel better for it :)

Thanks @Biglad, mom passed away last year after a long battle with MND made more difficult because of her mental health issues. Not an easy time for any of the family but my sister bore the brunt of it, visiting most days and dealing with many of the problems and constant texts and messages. She was closest to Mom and misses her terribly so I don’t want to upset her but these are lovely photos of Mom in happier times and I know she would love them so taking @Ladybird4 advice they will be given on New Year’s Eve. Tomorrow is the first anniversary and it’s going to be difficult.
  • Morning everyone,
    Lovely photo LB
@debs64 I think it's a wonderful idea and if it were me I'd really love it. I'd cry too, but those photos will hold such wonderful memories too. I agree with LB's idea for a new year's day gift.  I'm sure your sister will treasure the photo album and be thrilled that you made it for her.
The sun is shining here at the moment, but its very cold when I popped out to the bin.
Have a lovely day everyone, take care.

Debs the photo album will make a lovely gift which will e treasured by your sister.   LB a beautiful picture of the two swans and the sweet puppy.  I’ve been pottering and just having a cup of tea.  Good morning Lily can you microwave a wheat bag or something similar.
