Evening everyone, busy few days but it’s nice to cross the finish line and I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Hope Jacks Covid injection went well LB, mum had hers today going back in Jan for the 2nd part. Nice to see T’bird, OH’s new toy will be very useful by the sounds of it especially with the finishing touches you’ll be adding. Hope you are all keeping well, I loved the photo of Rubees cat in a box and Yvie’s grandson, what is it about boxes! 😀 Lily I hope your neck pain has eased off, how are the poppets? looking forward to Christmas I’m sure, Hazel I hope your arms have recovered from the knitting, got all your new plants in now, Rosie nice to have a walk with dad, pleased you saw your sister recently too, Debs that’s good you can make plans for Christmas and reassuring news for your fiancé concerning work, Ante your Christmas lights are spectacular, what a lovely display you have created 🤩 Have a lovely evening all.
Afternoon all - a blustery and grey day - definitely one for staying indoors.
One set of blackout drapes (really can't call them curtains!) made and OH seems chuffed to bits with them (which is good). Tomorrow we'll have a little trip to Dunelm to buy a couple of long zips and then I can make cushions for the van.
Bought some beautiful handwoven Harris Tweed for them. Quite expensive per metre but we only needed 0.75m so not too extravagant. Sumptuous subtle jewel colours and incredibly fast delivery from the island shop. Now very tempted to try to think of something nice to make for the house using their fabric.
There have been some lovely poignant and also some very funny WhatsApp clips doing the rounds this year. Some witty people out there.
Sorry your fiance is working this Christmas Debs -but I guess it's routine in his line of business. He's no doubt glad of the opportunity to work this year.
Right - need to make out a shopping list and then it's log burner time. Have been box-setting The Durrells this week. The blue skies and seas of Corfu look so enticing at the moment.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
LB, I saw that commercial few day ago and I think it's brilliant. So warm and to me reminder that there is a lot old people who are alone, not only for Christmas, whole year. We should care of all them all year round, especially at this harsh situation.
Thank you Chive. Try to rest this weekend, you deserve it.
Friday finally. It was beautiful sunny and warm day. I used it to have a long walk with my dog. Almost 10k. Also try to catch up with baking. Yesterday I made beautiful biscuits with orange jam. SK shopping is done, I found a young duck 🥳 for Christmas lunch. Now tea and reading back.
Oh don't T'Bird. I have really missed my trip to France this year. Never mind It will still be there. Wish I could say for definite when I will be going again. I have to revel in my shopping trips to 'sco. The tweed sounds very interesting T'Bird. It should be nice and hardwearing too.
Rosie, its lovely that you get out for walks with your Dad. The wind here was blowing a hooley. I had to keep checking the wreath on the door to make sure it is still in place. Chive, nice to have your time for your own things now. Jack and my friend Joan, who I take (took) to Canasta have both had their vaccines now. Both of them and my Bestie's Mum told me that they had to sit down for 15 minutes afterwards so I guess that they must have been checking for any adverse reactions. All 3 are fine.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Hello there Ante. You had a good long walk with your dog Ante. I wonder who was the tiredest when you got home? Was the orange jam you used in your biscuits the jam you made yourself? Sounds as though you are all well organised now for Christmas Day. I think I am. I put up a few more decorations today because I had been waiting for some batteries that arrived in the post.

LB, I still can walk, but he sleeps on armchair. You are right, I made orange jam. First round was delicious, so I repeated yesterday again, but with 6 kilo of oranges.
Evening LB that is a wonderful advert so heart warming. Yes mum had to wait 15 minutes before leaving, I’m glad your friends felt alright. I hope you’ve had a good day did you find some motivation? not easy to do I know. Thanks Ante, hope the online classes have gone well this week. Will you break up for Christmas now?
