Morning Chive. I hope that you, like Debs, get your wrapping done today. My cat sitting duties start on 23rd Chive. Looking forward to it but I'll have to tell the cats to keep socially distanced! I think not!

Good morning everyone .Love the snowman LB .Gosh the governments rules are so confusing .Teachers have more than enough to do .My S I L is a headmaster ,his workload has always been huge .His so called free time ,at home ,is eaten into by prep .I feel so sorry that people who are already working so hard are expected to work even harder. Ante I hope the day brightens up for your trip up to your cottage .
  • Good Morning Rubee,
LB Not likely they’ll be distanced from you 😀, Lily will be most curious about the new smells too,
Rubee How are you and your OH?
  • Morning everyone,
Hehe LB, oops missed that. 🤣🤣
A drizzly dark morning here. Need to pop to the village shops to get a paper with free tv Christmas guide. Although there's probably not much on.
Absolutely awful for teachers to and testing. So they can't cuddle a child if they fall over or are upset in anyway but are expected to do that 🤦🏻‍♀️
You have a busy day Debs. I thought perhaps shops would close Boxing day this year. Have never understood why any shop needs to be open on Boxing day.
    Have a lovely day everyone

Debs, I'm glad that you don't need to work on Boxing Day. Also it's terrible for teachers. They will be exhausted without peaceful rest with families.

Chive, you asked me about my Christmas wheat. It's thriving and according to her, it will be lavish and abundant next year.

It's time for breakfast. I hanged the last lights outside.

    Morning all,

I've never understood the nation's addiction to shopping, which is the reason that shops will open on Boxing Day. If we open, they will come!

It's especially baffling during a pandemic but is strong evidence of the high level of stupidity prevalent in the population. They will queue for hours to cram into tight spaces (cheerfully wearing masks covering only their chins) to get their hands on stuff they don't need.

I can't criticise any business that opens - heaven knows most of them need some bumper shopping days to survive. However, a combination of folk mixing in shops and households over the next couple of weeks can only make matters worse to start 2021.

Apologies - that probably belongs on another thread!

Have a good day folks ;)

Good morning Chive . We are not too bad thank you for asking .I do hope that everyone on Rez has a healthy Christmas .
  • Just got back from village shops. Just a paper and a couple of bags of mini marshmallows for the poppets. 3rd poppet is too young for those.
On the door of our little food shop, the opening times were open as normal till 10 at night, closed Christmas day and opening 9 -8 Boxing day. Can't believe they are only closed Christmas day too.

  • Good Morning Biglad, I knew someone who’d get up the early hours of Boxing Day to queue for a popular high street store sales, bonkers 🥴
Lily glad your shopping trip was brief, mini marshmallows lovely in a hot choccie drink too 😋 That’s a long time to open on Boxing Day isn’t it,
Rubee I’m glad you are both ok, yes agreed that’s all we need this Christmas 😊

Morning all. It's raining - another day I don't need to water the new bit of hedge🙂

Thanks for the info about the over-door wreath hangers. For this year at least, I don't think they would work because the door is such a close fit. Zero draughts but no room for a bit of metal. Maybe next year when the draught excluder strip is a bit less fluffy.

I'm thinking about a suction hook attached upside down to the inside glass and then some ribbon up and over the door and down the outside to the wreath. There might be enough room for some thin ribbon. Question is whether the suction hook will stay in place. We have some quite strong ones we use for hanging coats in the motorhome - might rob one of those and try it.

Trip to Dunelm and SM in a bit but we'll wait to nearer to lunchtime when it might be a bit quieter (I'm not queueing to get in in this weather!).
