There's a lot of misunderstanding about electric vehicles amongst the general population, and I was one of them until recently.
Might I suggest anyone with an interest in EV's go to that very nice man Robert Llewellyn (Red Dwarf, Scrapheap Challenge, Carpool) youtube channel where you will find a wide range of informative videos not just about EV's but the changes in energy production planet wide for a better understanding.

    Certainly opened my eyes.

It was over 50 years ago that I studied A level history. From that day to this I have not given a second thought to the 1852 ‘Who, Who?’ Government. Why did it pop into my head when I read this?

A friend of mine in Belgium wondered recently what would happen to all the lovely electric cars when the inevitable winter blizzard arrived and closed the ring road (Belgian M25) around Brussels for a few hour and all those cars sat there with no way to keep their passengers warm or restart their engines.

Wonder no longer. This guy lives in Norway and drives electric cars all the time and he doesn't seem to have any problems at temperatures far below freezing.

Oh.. and there's no engines to restart. Its an electric motor and most EV's have heat pumps now to heat the car. Its about as inconvenient as an ICE car running out of petrol If you run out of petrol no heat if you run out of battery power no heat.

Its also my understanding that Norway has more EV's than any other country in Europe so it seems they manage somehow..

I think they're fine if you don't run down the battery but sitting in a queue of traffic for hours in a blizzard would surely do that and leave nothing to make the car move again.

I suspect Norway is rather better at snow management than Belgium and the UK where transport grinds to a halt if there's more than a cm or two of snow.

Every day at 3.30pm the local parents go one by one down our road to collect their children from the local school and at 3.45 pm they come back with some of them walking shoulder to shoulder chatting with their faces 2 foot apart.

After a few weeks I challenged a couple  of middle aged ladies who said they could walk in twos as they lived together.

Im coping well with this health situation as i am single and have a an allotment to visit daily.

What decision process do they go through to decide it is correct to spread water droplets and germs from one family to say 3 others every day.

This occurs 5 times a week in term time.

"Do you have the virus ...No....Nor do I. What are you doing at the week end ?"

The TV.........who never lies .............!!!....says the under 20s and the over 60s are following the SD rules the best.

If the infection rates go up more people will abide by the rules and when the infection rates  come down they will go back to their old ways.

We can look forward to a medical roller coaster over the next 2 or 3 years.

Odd how we all have an image inside our heads of what we look like - oh, to see through someone else's eyes eh? I thought I looked mature and suave (isn't that a wine?). Hmmmmm.

I bought a new lap top recently and found an icon of a camera and clicked on it and I saw some old g*t staring back at me and in that split second I thought "Ooh hes not worn well  " ............and it was me

Had a shave but that image has stayed with me and added 40 years.

Just the same as running your engine for hours and leaving no fuel for the car to move again. Battery or petrol both are in the same boat so to speak

Yes, but my full tank can take me 800km.  Do batteries have that range?
