    It's a glorious day for running around a field @Ladybird4 :D

The only concession to Covid seems to be that I'm not provided with a changing room/shower :o

Good morning all. Best wishes to those with friends and family who are poorly. My youngest son lives in Liverpool and went along for his test like a good citizen. He tested negative so one less thing to worry about. We had planned a bonfire party tonight but it’s cancelled obviously so at rather a loose end. Maybe a trip to B&Q to get a few bits to finish off some projects. Fiancé unsure about work situation but looks like he will have time on his hands in November.

Morning Hazel - you snuckered in there. Fingers crossed that the electrician shows up at last. Debs, a shame that there is no bonfire party. I wonder if I will hear more fireworks tonight. A trip to the DIY store sounds good. I really enjoy having a good mooch around there. Does the establishment where your fiancé is based do takeaways?

Hi LB, he isn’t sure whether or not they will do takeaway as it’s a tiny pub out in the middle of nowhere very pretty but not much passing trade. I think whatever happens he will go down every week for a day or two so he can deep clean the kitchen as he does love to clean and it’s a good opportunity. I need him kept busy while I am at work otherwise he gets a bit down. There are lots of small jobs and we need to sort allotment and garden before the winter.
Lots of fireworks here but I don’t mind, my cats are supremely disinterested. We may sit in the garden for a few hours later just the two of us. Enjoy other people’s displays.

LB, sorry for misunderstanding. Have a nice time in the garden if you are going outside.

Hazel, finger crossed that electrician comes today.

I'm going now to cottage. When I come back you will probably be on new thread. See you all later.

Hi folks,  Thanks for your messages re Merri.  I am really worried about her.  She shouldn't have these sort of problems at 12. The rest of the family didn't have symptoms until 40's.  Sorry about your Bestie's family LB.  One of Firstborn's best friends (since uni days) has had Corona. 40 years old in good shape and no underlying medical problems.  His lungs just couldn't work and he ended up in hospital for over a week.  It's not just us 27 year olds that have to worry.
I've been cheering myself up by taking advantage of the sunshine and getting some more gardening jobs done.  Cut back dahlias, japanese anemones and thinned out the foxgloves.
Didn't get the daffs planted they will have to wait.  Normally in by now, I hope they will be OK.
    Stay safe everyone.
