The delivery I was expecting just arrived (as it was going dark!) as I was about to leave the house for a run. It's a sign ;)

I've put the bare roots in a bucket of water and given the Cherry bush a drink and put it out back. I managed to snip off a tiny branch as I was cutting the box open :o so I'm calling it a cutting and potted it up. Any chance of success with that folks?

It's still on @Songbird-1 but I wouldn't bet my house on it happening. Due to start on Monday but I'll definitely be 'working from home' for the first week at least. How that will pan out, I've no idea :open_mouth:

It's a shame that you have to 'persuade' folk to come and do a job so that you can give them money isn't it?

Its always worth giving a cutting a chance @Biglad. When you say Cherry bush do you mean the edible kind? Sorry that the job is a little bit uncertain at the moment but 200 miles is some distance to travel.
Hazel, I'm glad that you managed to pin down the electrician. Lets hope he gets your job done on Saturday and you can relax. I'll bet he wouldn't be too keen if you were to say 'Oh I might pay you next week.......or sometime!'
I can hear fireworks outside now.

Yup - fireworks here as well, @Ladybird4. Although they've been going off regularly for the last 3 weeks or so :o It's a Porthos. I'm hoping for something edible at some point but given my history with a variety of fruit bushes :(

You never know Biglad may be this time you’ll have some fruit.  Good luck.  LB I’m sure the birds will appreciate your efforts.

Rosie, nice that you enjoyed in walk with your dad.

I'm prepare everything for school tomorrow. Today is my last day in isolation. Must go out with dog later, but weather is hideous. Very high wind. After school I must check cottage and veggies. just hope so that all will be ok. I wasn't be up there fourteen days.

During my previous dalliance with gardening, I killed a blueberry and a blackcurrant bush @Rosie.b. :( I gave up after that.

However, I've got the knowledge of the forum and the sense to do a bit more research now :o

Thanks for asking Hazel, they are all well. We must wait just for two pupils because they must be isolated three more days. But they are also well. Sorry for my ignorance, but you all mentioned fireworks. I didn't know why but did small research and it's all clear me now.

Biglad, that is a good cherry. Are you growing it in a pot or in the ground? They like full sun.
Ante, I bet that you are looking forward to getting back to school tomorrow and then getting back to the cottage. Weather is not brilliant here either and I'm sorry that we didn't explain about Guy Fawkes and the gunpowder plot. Does your dog like going out when the weather is horrible or do you have to drag the poor thing? Here is one idea:
