    Morning all🙂

Airing cupboard cleared ready for heating engineer this afternoon. Now I'm going to see if I can get the grass cut & a few other bits done outside before lunch.

Then it will be time to see if I can resolve an issue with the SKY Q boxes AGAIN. Looking on the SKY forum there is one thread of over 100 pages - all people with an identical problem to mine. Clearly a problem with SKY hardware or software - but I'll try a couple of the suggested easy fixes.

@Ladybird4 - meant to say thank you for the suggestion of World of Pots. Will take a look at them

@Songbird-1 - I'm not expecting to hear anything from Boris that hasn't already been speculated / reported in the press.

Hazel, I managed to get on early this morning.  Maybe it’s a quiet time today.  Topbird I hope the heating engineer sorts the problem for you.  A heating engineer is already at Rubees.

Hi folks,  Hope everyone is OK.  I have read back but can't remember who did what and when. Hopefully I will be popping in a bit more regularly now.  Things have settled down a bit here on all fronts.  We had the sitting room decorated last Friday and I've finally finished putting everything back and hanging the curtains.  My nephew had good news re his op.  They have every reason to believe that once he has had his chemo he will be fine.  Gabriel is fit and well and full of mischief.  Merri has her appointment with the consultant re her hips etc on Friday so a bit concerned about that.  I'm hoping the weather will be ok in the coming week so I can get some gardening done haven't deadheaded for ages and so things have gone over and need sorting out and I have a rose arch to put in to replace a feeble effort that was erected as a stop gap.  Enjoy your day everyone whatever you are up to.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands

Hello all. Mission accomplished and I got home just before the serious rain started here. Surprisingly enough I didn't witness any C*******s decs but the stuff for Hallowe'en was falling off the shelves! I had to ask a tall man in the SM to reach stuff for me in the freezer section. He was really pleasant and his wife who was about my size said she knew the feeling.
T'Bird, I feel your frustration regarding your service provider. Look at my experiences with VM. I do hope that your boiler problem is only a little one and it gets fixed this aft.
Hazel, I hope that electrician DOES get to you next week. You are having to wait a heck of a long time.
Hello Yvie, good to see you and good to hear your positive news regarding your nephew.

  • Sorry Yvie, I didn't see your last post. Good to see you.  Great news about your nephew and Gabriel. Hope all goes well on Friday for Merri.  Sounds like a very busy time with lounge and garden. Take care Yvie.
Glad you got back before the pouring rain LB. Not raining here but very chilly.

Yvie good news about your nephew and Gabriel and hoping all goes well for Merri on Friday.  I’ve been to sm with dad and it’s raining.  Just a few things to collect and back home.  Hazel I hope you get some positive feedback from the electrician.  As LB says it seems to have been a while now.

Hazel, that is a solution for smells in a fridge. You can actually get special little vented containers. My cat sitter's wife, when she was still here, gave me this one and it does work in the fridge.
All you have to do is replace the bicarb now and again.

I honestly don't know what they are called Hazel but I'll do a bit of research. Jack's wife Molly, who gave me this one shortly before she passed away so I can't ask her.
SGL, I can see your posts OK.
