Once you bear right on the A82 at Tarbet, towards Crianlarich, you're heading in a different direction @Lizzie27. If you carry on towards, and beyond,Ā  Arrochar, that's the road [A83]. You can't see the R&bT from the A82, only from the hills along it's west side.Ā
Fingers crossed your jab has been ok. I've never had one.

I’ve never had a reaction of any sort from a flu jab. OH once had a nasty reaction a few hours afterwards with a high temperature and vomiting overnight and then he was fine. He was so ill I nearly called 999 ... he left it about 10 years before having another flu jab and hasn’t had a reaction since.Ā

  • In lockdown again from Friday for two weeks only! Ā Good job we went to Marks yesterday to fill the freezer up. Ā Booked tip for tomorrow as we have 16 bags of hedge cuttings, round trip of 32 miles as our local tip is in lockdown now! Ā I feel the television going on a bit more than usual! Ā

  • Happy Anniversary for tomorrow @Pat E .
Fairy if that road was in the Alps they would put it in a tunnel.
We managed a short walk up the farm again today not the most exiting but it's on our doorstep & does involve a steep hill so hopefully it's doing some good.Ā
We have gradually been changing over our summer pots to their Autumn/ Winter displays, I agree it's tricky when the summer plants are still performing but with the clock change at the w/e and the drop in daylight it's high time.
I have to do the walk of shame today - we had to use shop bought tomatoes with our lunchtime saladĀ  :'(. There are still some toms in the Allotment greenhouse but they are only ripeningĀ veryĀ slowly.

The walk of shame @Allotment BoyĀ  :D
I've still got a bundle on the kitchen windowsill. Most of them are turning, so I get a few each day. I miss being able to just open the growhouse and pick some off to eat like sweets.Ā  :)
@steephill was saying the same thing a while ago about the road @Allotment Boy. I think that's the only long term solution too. They're talking about access from further south, across the loch too, but I can't see much happening because of cost. These are all very narrow roads, so very expensive to try and alter. They've already spent over 80 million on these daft 'catch pits'. The businesses in Inveraray, in particular,Ā  are fed up with it. It's a 60 mile diversion every time, up the west side of L. Lomond, and round the top through Tyndrum,Ā  if they can't use the old road.Ā

  • Evening all,

Busy few days at work ( thank goodness), we had a local Zen Commune come in for breakfast today, 15 of them....first order was a gin and tonic and they promptly ordered virtually everything from the menu and then doubled it! I think they might have been fasting for a week or so, they're becoming fairly regular customers. They look very odd, all bald, including the girls, lots of loose and baggy pants, but ever so pleasant and appreciative, :) The evening trade has suddenly picked up too just when I was thinking I was wasting my time.Ā

And I managed to get a lot done in the garden, bulbs planted all tidy and extra mulch put on everything. Good job as we had a first frost this morning.Ā  ;)

I have two more days of work and then I'm off on holiday, up and across to the coast. Not a lot planned, museums, bike riding hopefully if the weather is good and a day at the place where they start the Vendee Globe race, which includes meeting up with @Obelixx for lunch. :) Charlie is very excited, although worrying we'll get all wet on the bike ride. Saturday is supposed to be ok. Charlie's dad is coming too. After 7 months of being friends, post lockdown and me being ill,Ā  and all running smoothly we have decided to try again to make the relationship work - on new terms and with some strict ground rules. Were keeping separate houses and our financial independence, but we seem to have a bond and when he behaves he is absolutely fine - we'll see. In the back of my mind I have @punkdoc 's wise words about men.... ;) Better the devil you know etc. etc. and at 27 I can't be bothered looking for a new one.Ā

More importantly I have penstemon cuttings to deal with and new seeds. also two bareroot roses arriving soon too.Ā  :p

Happy Anniversary for tomorrow @Pat EĀ  48 years - he must be one of the good ones. :)

Right, more paperwork to do before I'm off....catch you all later.Ā

Morning everyone. Nice coolish, sunny day here with no wind. Thanks for all your good wishes. I’ve been thinking about the longevity of some marriages, and I think for me, it’s having the same sense of humour. Ā  My first husband was from a different culture and I just didn’t ā€œgetā€ some of his jokes.Ā

We’ve managed to record some of the bird calls this morning and Hubby is fiddling with the computer to try to get it sorted out so that I can send it to you. šŸ™„ no good me trying.Ā
