Yup.... I had made lots of room in my beds.... everything had enough space..... then lidl did a special on ornamental grasses on Thursday and 3 followed me home.... they are now being moved around looking for space!
@WonkyWomble ooh, I didn't see those! Might have to look at the local Lidl again. But then I have no idea where to put anything like that so maybe it's best that I don't!
I keep buying plants with no idea what I'm going to do with them when I get them home. In the last week I've bought two heathers, a cyclamen, a photinia, euphorbia, and a passiflora. No idea where I should plant any of them. I also took a cutting from a neighbour's clematis that she was cutting down. I already have too many plants and not enough of a plan! I really should stop buying them.
I am a plant addict since lockdown and buy them every week. I have to resist and think carefully where to put them. I check where the sunrises and sets on the garden. I did a big re-org of the garden, moved things around, dug things out, threw stuff away, old pots etc, cleared the lot! Then the garden designs sort of evolved and with new space, fresh compost and then buying suitable plants for the areas in the garden.
This whole summer the garden centre I normally visit offered significantly less varieties than just a year ago, so that helped my plant addiction. I would have preferred many more varieties though and am already hopeful for the next summer.
i went to Homebase for some kitchen paint this morning. forgot the paint, but bought a tray of mixed bedding plants, a red williamsii camellia and and another flipping hebe. I have enough hebes already... seductive New Zealand come-hither vixen plants tempting me. Harrumph.
What a lovely garden @JAC51. I think we are all guilty of buying extra plants then trying to decide where to put them, but somehow, a home is found Enjoy your plants, I'm sure they will make your garden extra gorgeous.
I plonked the heather and clematis in the scruffy front flower bed that is currently overrun with geraniums and lady's mantle. I figured they would both be dying off soon so maybe there will at least be a bit of colour there. The euonmyus (not euphorbia) went in a random spot by the garden wall, and the others in pots until I decide what to do with them. I also found two bags of bulbs that I forgot I bought a few weeks ago so I need to find homes for those, too. It's all turning into chaos but I have a vague idea of creating a wild cottage garden effect eventually.

You made me go to Lidl!
They only had Miscanthus strictus 'Dwarf' which I don't really want, but I did grab some incredibly cheap Allium 'Gladiator' bulbs; £1.78 for 2 - which sounds a lot until you compare with other sellers.

Nothing wrong with being a plant addict! You can never have too many plants. There's always room to squeeze another one in

today I was doing so so well then accidentally bought four polyanthus plants on the afternoon school run.
