Hi all, once again issues getting into site haven’t had time to read back so apologies if I repeat information already gathered.
The Fall is excellent very well acted it’s on Netflix.
New senior seems pleasant but work very stressful very busy not enough staff and extremely unhappy patients, the issue is with the poor service from the surgery we are attached to but we are getting the complaints.
Still no date for kitchen and my oven is now completely broken so it’s job and microwave food for the foreseeable future also my beloved slow cooker.
Off to allotment later to pick last courgettes and tomatoes. Anyone got a recipe for green tomato chutney?
Good Morning LB & Debs and all to follow, LB hope you have a bright start to your day, the free plants were a bargain buy with only the postage cost, Debs Sorry to hear it’s been so busy at work, it sounds stressful. Hope the new kitchen isn’t too much longer, your cooking options are getting limited I do love the slow cooker. Time to rock & roll with some more of the painting, have a good day everyone.
Morning everyone .LB ,lovely pic. I hope that you manage some gardening today . Oh flip Debs ,sorry about your cooker.Good job yo have a microwave oven .
Morning Debs and Chive. Sorry you are having to deal with disgruntled customers Debs and an unfinished kitchen All you can do is smile and keep patient. Chive get the umbrella hat out and good luck with the ongoing decorating.
Debs I have a recipe that I have used in the past - when we were all still at home. Just to give you and idea of just how old this recipe is it comes from this book:
We left Malaya - as it was then - at the beginning of 1963! As you can see the book has been EXTREMELY well used. here is the recipe:
Its obviously in imperial measures and can be scaled down for smaller amounts. At least it will give you one example to think about.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning LB, debs, Chive, Rubee, Hazel and all to follow!
LB, interesting cookbook. I love old books and one of my hobbies is collecting them.
Hazel, have a nice time at GC!
Here is again warm, and whole september nice weather. rellies came to visit and now they are in the town. Later we will have lunch together and I'll go to cottage.
LB, I found this meme yesterday and it immediately remind me of you. I don't know why😂
Ante - that little sqiggie (= squirrel) is very, very cute. He looks like a little boy going to see the headmaster😁
@debs64 Sorry to hear you're having a rough time at work. Have never understood how some customers can be so rude to people trying to help them. We all get frustrated when the sort of scenario Hazel has described arises but I never, ever take out on the pharmacist / assistant serving me.
I am refusing to make green tomato chutney this year because the jars just lurk in the cupboard for 3 years before being consigned to the bin. I'm going to try green tomato pickle this year (recipe from another forum member)
also want to try Delia's spiced green tomato sauce (supposed to be good with sausages) which is in the ancient original cookery course book - my bible and literally falling to pieces. Lots of pages lightly spattered with food but I have been cooking from it for 40 years!
and I might even have a bash at green tomato fritters made using sliced, seeded tomatoes and a basic onion bhaji or pakora batter.
If all else fails I have successfully frozen whole green tomatoes to keep until actually ready to deal with them.
LB - lists are in good order thank you😁
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
