Hi folks, Just back from Secondborn's.  I'm officially shattered.  It was Gabriels 2nd Birthday today but we are celebrating on Sunday as this week has been absolutely manic.  I don't think Gabriel will mind as long as he gets jelly, ice cream, cake and pressies.  Had to call in to Besties last night after getting back from Firstborn's and fell down the steps as I left.  Didn't see the bottom one in the dark.  Didn't really hurt myself but everything is aching today so I've just taken some tablets and I'm spoiling myself with a bog of chocolate buttons.
Thanks for all your congratulations re the quiz.  I'll probably only know a couple next week.
I have read back but can't remember who had the dinosaur egg.  I've just bought one for Jonah, I'll give it him on Sunday when Gabriel gets all his presents so he wont feel left out. Jonah really loves school and I took Gabriel to a play date at his pre-school today.  He settled in really quickly and didn't want to come home.  Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their evening.

Ante, best wishes for your father and wishing him to make new memories throughout his retirement.
  • Evening All,
Hazel mum is doing well thank you, hope you are able to visit your mum before the weather closes in. Atleast your hair is done now, I usually have a wet cut and I find they can be a bit vigorous with the washing, almost torturous if the girl has long nails 😖
LB oh lucky you fish & chips but you’ve waited a long time for that treat 😋 Mum is keeping well thank you she has her milk delivered like you but now they want her to go online which she needed help with, so that was one of my tasks for the afternoon. Vulcan bombers are a formidable sight, for many years One was parked at Southend Airport and I’d pass it on my way to work. In the days of the Airshow when it was opened to the public we were able to climb up into the cockpit, astonishingly small when you look at the size of the aircraft. I cannot imagine what it would have been like to have flown during the war in such a confined space with all your crew members,
T’bird It was a shock to the system, this has felt like a long couple of days & I’m not sorry it’s the weekend. You’ve been extremely busy, I hope you have a wonderful break it sounds like an action packed schedule, but interesting places to visit and I hope there is a little bottle of something being stowed away for medicinal purposes of course 😉
Ante congratulations to your dad on his retirement, after 40 years service it’s going to be daunting but I hope he enjoys this new chapter of his life. You’ve had a busy time but with some nice surprises which is lovely to hear. There you go, I think I’ve managed to out post you 😀

    Hi all!

T'bird, I saw this fruit for the first time. Extremely bitter, but scent is divine. So pleasant.

LB, so nice that all your plants arrived safely. And you paid only postage.

Chive, yes you managed to out post me, but it's always pleasure to read all your posts. Have a nice evening.

I forgot to mention that I ordered two books from ebay. One is about wild birds and other is from carol Klein about her favorite plants.

We can't let special occasions go by without an acknowledgement! You need to take more water in it Yvie! Seriously, you were lucky that you didn't hurt yourself any more than you did. You take care and rest easy tonight. Chive, you need to rest easy too. You've had a short week to break the ice of getting back to work. Enjoy your weekend, if its anything like this year it will fly passed.

@Yviestevie I think you've just inadvertently created the way I want to go and meet my maker - drowning in a bog of chocolate buttons  :D

Hope you feel better after a good night's kip.

Hello everybody! Time to rise and shine. I hope, Yvie, that you aren't too achey this morning. T'Bird, have you got your packing lists ready? Biglad, did you enjoy your fish and chips yesterday? Ante your books sound very interesting. I have been a member of the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) for more years than you have been on the planet! It is one of my hobbies and I really enjoy listening to Carol Klein and using her tips for growing new plants.
