Well hello all, I miss a couple of  days  and we are page 13 already!
@Pat E the Japanese gardeners have lower sleeve protectors  for when they are working with conifers & pines, they will be lighter and easier to work in than welding sleeves.
Congrats to all with long anniversaries.

@Dovefromabove ash is the best wood for tool handles, if you can find someone that works a pole lathe they may well "take it off your hands". I would love to be able to make a new handle for my dads old rake but I lack  the knowledge, skill & equipment for such things.

We have the 3 grandchildren staying with us for most of August now. They are having some essential work done at their house, some of which involves removal of plaster containing Asbestos- its low level stuff apparently but understandably their  ma & pa want them out of the way while it's done.
So sorry if I don't post much will try to keep up as & when I can.

Hello everyone. Thanks for the reassurance really OH returning to work. He's back home after his first day and he seemed reassured that the employers are taking our seriously even if the youngsters aren't so much.
Dove, I was wondering about your tree when I was there. It would be such a shame to loose it but getting it managed by a professional is a good plan!

And now the double oven is 'dead' ... we have no way to cook the dough that's been proving all day so that's in the bin ... waiting for the oven repair chap to return my call ... supper is sausage bacon and egg with fried new potatoes (leftovers from yesterday) and mushrooms so that's easily sorted.  Tomorrow's smoked salmon quiche will be transmogrified into smoked salmon and pasta with a creamy sauce.

    I feel your pain @Dovefromabove.

I'm so curmudgeonly about my freezer not being fixed, I've just emailed the CEO of British Gas about the poor/ non existent service from Home Care.

Evening all. Another day done - I could always do with another hour in the evenings really. Me and my achy feet are off to bed now. Beautiful moon tonight - it was bright orange as it peeped over the horizon.

Had a new Sky Box fitted today because other one broke.
All fitted no problem, but had to have an upgraded box, because they said so.
Of course everything about the TV controls are now totally different, and I can barely turn the TV on, never mind look for what I want to watch.
I am sure a 5 year old could do it, but I can't.
How can you lie there and think of England

Just been for a socially distanced walk with my sisters - went down to Selsey.  Moon rising over the water was sooooo lovely 😊

    Very nice Chicky. 😃
Punkdoc, you and me both.  If I didn’t have Hubby to do it, I’d not be able watch anything of TV. 🙄
I think we are in for some weather. The sky over the back of the hill has turned navy blue.

  • Weathering the weather out here. A wild  wind and a warning of deluges and floods today.  The place feels clammy so may light the fire at some stage. All is well.
