Ruby, that gerbera is lovely. I have never had any success growing those.

Hello I couldn’t sleep with the heat and have made myself a cup of tea and Alfie is keeping me company.  Enjoy your slumber.

Chivetalking; for that kind comment, thank you. I have become oversensitive seeing all the rare and lovely flowers here. Mine is perforce a very simple old style cottage garden  ! The lupins came from  a packet and the  germination was excellent. Interesting that they all came out that same blue. They are thriving there and will go on now. They say that where nettles grow shows fertile soil and the network of their roots there was astounding. I kept pulling and pulling and yards and yards came up. Hoping to be able to do at least a little work soon.  Just out of the photo is a decent sized half worked bed where a lot of "volunteer" potatoes as well as a few others are thriving.  We all and each do all we can and the growing is what matters.
  • Stay as cool as you can out there.  We are to be 19-22 degrees with sunshine and sea and coastal breezes. mmmmm! sounds delicious. I may yet take a blanket to the back patch and snooze in the sun. Bliss!

Good morning early birds Rosie and Island. Its quite wet here and there was a fine mizzle when I opened to door to collect my milk, eggs and yoghurt drinks. If the rain stays as fine as this then it should not impair my nephew's work as he continues with the back gate project.
