Cats...we have 3, all adopted strays, neutered.  They are bastards, no question.  Despite a jungle next door, they dig up my beds, lie in my pots, and shit on my grass!  What can i do?  They show up, hungry and neglected, so I feed them, and next thing they are in front of the fire.  They have killed birds, mice and voles.  All for sport.  They have also brought home live mice, rats, voles and a frog/toad.
Feel free to castigate me, but at least ours are neutered.  Out in the wild, they would breed and do more damage.

I'm pretty sure finding sh*t in the polytunnel where one grows food is reason enough to be curmudgeonly??

And that place has a tiny garden and is on the corner of two roads.

This place has been given over to the buy to let brigade and houses are being swept up enmass stoping the kids getting on the housing ladder.

    Sorry rant over

I've just read the details for the property Hostafan1 posted.  All but one of the room sizes are given in proper measurements i.e. feet and inches - proper British sizes.  However, one bedroom has metric measurements - very odd.

House prices vary hugely even in the same area.  Less than 1/2 mile from us is a 4 bedroom semi prices just under £500k.  Most 4 bed semis in the area would be at least £100k less.  It's a lovely house but I think the asking price may be a bit optimistic.

When I move again it will have to be similar to here, plot in the middle of a field and no neighbours for miles.
I don’t think I could be doing with people next door, cars kids, bikes, radios, dogs, weeds.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

we paid £380K for our place 11 years ago. The agent selling Hubby's house in Surrey before we moved told us that a similar property, if it could be found in Surrey at that time would go on the market at £2,300,000
I'd rather live in a tent than move back to Surrey ( sorry @chicky )
    Devon.
