Cordless drill/screwdriver battery! Dead, and it's the second one so no spare. German make but none available in France - have toured the local DIYs and googled and there are none in mainland Europe or the UK. Can get one from the USA for 50$ plus 25$ p&p plus whatever the French customs add on.
Have found a new one with 2 batteries, a pair of gloves and a 20 piece accessory kit and carrying box for 60€ reduced from 130€.  Delivery 15/7.
There's probably never a good time for these things but the monumental mason that lives in my street has just aquired a new AMG Mercedes and the local funeral director is still driving his bright white Lamborghini around. Â
Probably not a good time for my OH to take early retirement 😱😀 funeral directors fees, ridiculous no wonder he has a car like that.Â

A relative of mine used to work for the council in Glasgow and had to arrange funerals for those with no relatives/ money .It used to cost the council £147 yes, ONE hundred and forty seven pounds.Â
Our window cleaner would drive about his work in an old banger with a ladder poking out the window. Then I saw him one weekend. He wasn't driving an old banger. Not into cars so I don't know what it was, but it was low, sleek and looked like it was made of plastic so I assume it was one of those sports cars that cost more than a house. Still, when you earn £3 a minute with no overheads, I suppose you can afford to treat yourself.
there was a guy in Goa who used to walk up and down the beach with a "withered" foot. he owned a fleet of taxis and 3 buses. "Begging" was just his hobby.Â
The only fees you need to pay for are the crematorium,  you can do the rest yourself, for nothing. Beggars in London, over £1000. Per week.  We’re all in the wrong jobs.Â

There was a chap who used to sit on the ground on the bridge that leads to the car park at our local shopping centre with a sad look on his face( hopefully his income stream has much reduced recently). Anyway , he would sit there with a fine haircut and fancy trainers. I wonder which car was his.
I woke up to the same flat, grey weather as usual. Had breakfast and went into the bathroom to get ready for my day. When I came out it was wall to wall blue sky. It was like some comedy sketch 'How long was I in there?!'. It's greying over again now. Just a cruel reminder of the summer we're not having. Â I watered all my sedums hoping they'd get a good dose of sunshine today too.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
