Fortunately most of the fallen branches have landed on the grass and I don’t think anyone was hurt.Branches often fall off the same trees in high wind.
Hello all. I can see that there have been some excellent attempts at the Logos. Answers tomorrow. The last clap seemed very poignant. The usual suspects turned out here, the sun actually put in an appearance and it was warm. I did manage to get Lily's TV fired up but had to make a mad rush at about 15:15 as the skies opened and the cloth things were virtually dry. All sorted and stashed.
T'bird, I can empathize as I have been feeling a little 'down' especially last week when the weather has been so foul. I have been doing the going upstairs and not remembering why I have gone up there, starting one job and then going off at a tangent when something else has distracted me so that the original job doesn't get completed and being completely p****d off by the scaremongering of the media etc. etc. I do have to say that coming on here helps me stay grounded as I know I will always be able to share a laugh and some beautiful pictures like those Ante has posted today - thanks for sharing Ante.
Here is a picture that made me smile yesterday. Pidge perched on top of my Whirligig enjoying a shower in the rain.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
I have to add that this seems to be the favourite vantage point of the 'big guys' in the garden and is usually dominated by a male blackbird. They reward my kindness of providing this perch, by pooping all over it! There's gratitude for you.

Ruby, that was scary news about the fallen branches - they had forecasted this could happen because the trees are all in full leaf. When I was driving south the traffic alerts on my car radio were advising of speed restrictions on the M62, heading towards Huddersfield and the matrix signs were telling of Woodhead Pass being closed. This made me smile as it usually only says that when we have snow and ice. It turned out it was just road works. My car was getting buffeted about but apart from that the journey was uneventful.

Evening Everyone, LB It’s been so very hard these past months and you’re right the media does nothing to help raise much cheer. I hope you are feeling more positive, the weather plays a significant part in our general well being doesn’t it. Love the picture of Pidge, a most statuesque pose on top of the whirligig. Rubee I hope you’ve not sustained any damage from the gusts they were very strong at times. Hazel Sorry to hear that the visit to mum may be postponed, sensible though if the conditions aren’t good. Have a good evening everyone.Â
Hello Chive. Yes I am feeling more cheery. To be honest I do not stay in the doldrums for long. A good cuppa chases most of the blues away. There is always something to be positive about.
