Morning all. Very disturbed night because it was so hot and humid but it is piddling down now & the electrickery is flicking on and off. Feeling much fresher already.

Chive I don’t think you’d describe Dunwich beach as ‘seafront’ exactly. It’s a bit off the beaten track with access via narrow country lanes and there’s not much there except the fishermen’s huts. There is a beach tea hut (closed by 5pm) and a rather nice pub up the road but, of course, that’s still shut. Could have really fancied a pint of Adnams last night...

Dunwich is a very interesting place. It was a major trading port and large town in the Middle Ages but a huge storm in the 14C silted up the harbour and the trade died. Since then nearly all the town has been lost to the sea and there are just a very few houses & the pub left. It’s a lovely, haunting, sleepy place and they say you can hear the church bells ringing from under the sea on a quiet night...👻

Also very close to Sizewell nuclear power station which probably puts some people off. Not us - but I’ll let you know if we develop a Ready Brek glow!

Good morning all, cooler today after a draining day yesterday at work. The visors we are now wearing meant 2 staff members had to go home with migraines. Popping to allotment in a bit then into town for bank etc before work later.
That beach looks lovely but I prefer to go to the beach in the winter, I find it too exposed in the summer, either baking hot or far too windy. It’s better abroad and I love to swim in the sea but I prefer greenery in the heat. Give me a pretty garden or sitting by a river or pool any day,too many people too.

Morning T'Bird, Debs and Hazel. That description of the beach, T'Bird, reminds me very much of a horror story I read - more years ago than I care to remember - whose title I cannot bring to mind. It was the bit about hearing the church bells chiming under the water. Debs, I have not had a need to wear any sort of a mask as yet but when I was spraying my rebar last year I did wear one then and it was horrible. I had to take many breaks as I found breathing difficult and it felt quite claustrophobic. Mind you, the mask was just one of those B&Q industrial types. I would hate to have to wear a visor.
Hazel, I smiled at your description of the 'hordes' descending on you but seriously it will be lovely to see the family. So much to catch up on.

    Morning everyone
Phewwww, it's so very hot already. And we had a storm last night. Garden got a good soaking too, still so very wet outside. But will dry quickly now the sun is out.
Didn't sleep that well either it was so very hot.
The beach looks lovely TB, much more pleasant than Brighton 😣 On the news this morning they threatening to close beaches if people flock to them like they have been. Boris you should never have opened them so soon. Closed the gate after the horse has bolted comes to mind Boris.
Have a lovely day with your mum Chive.
Debs I like sitting by the river, but I do love going to the beach and watching the waves roll in. But I couldn't bare/bear a crowded one.
Minds gone blank......will go and get another cup of tea and sit in the shade.
Have a good day everyone take care.

    Good morning to all.
Sorry I wasn't on forum last few days. I have a lot of work, but that is not excuse not to say hello. School is finally over and now I have a lot of paperwork. My garden is still here and my battle with weeds continuous. Here is warm but still not hot. I saw on tv that you have heat wave over there.
How are you all? I have 120 messages to read so  I'm not up to date.

Rubee, beautiful roses. I love this gentle colours.

Morning SGL. Ante and Ruby. Lovely to see you Ante, no need for apologies, we know that you have busy times and that you will look in when you get the chance. Ruby, I just love that picture of Alfie and Bruno. Loving that cat palace too.
    Bruno to Alfie:
"Just pose fuzzy face, I'll get you when she isn't looking!"
