Hiya everybody - lovely to see you all. Had a few problems IT wise so I haven't been on the forum for ages. Finally got the new 'puter all set up just as I like - logged on to the site and it promptly went off line. Thought I'd broken it!

Have so missed reading and sharing all your news and chat.

Nothing new at this end other than to say we've finally had a bit of useful rain so the grass is green rather than yellow, plants have all perked up and the weeds are running riot.

Oh! and this afternoon we've had a Little Owl perched on top of one of the garden obelisks. Have been watching him through the binoculars and he seems to have the greenest of eyes. It will be him I've heard calling the last couple of days - very unusual call.

Managed to snap him when he was in the huge ash tree at the bottom of the garden. Can you see him in the middle of the photo?

Hello Chive and T'Bird. Lovely to see you back. You're right, it did feel like an age that the Forum was down. How are the small people doing? T'Bird, that is lovely to see in the tree. I have little owls round me here but my great excitement yesterday was have a nuthatch on my peanut feeder. It was teeming with rain and nephew was doing noisy electrical things in the garage so the bird flitted off before I had chance to take a picture. He/she was feeding head down and chasing away one rather bedraggled - and I think juvenile - bluetit. So lovely to see them though.

Little owls like to eat worms T'Bird so if the rain has brought any up to the surface they had better be careful

Maybe that's what he was looking for from the top of the obelisk LB. The soil there was turned yesterday so that plus the rain might mean rich pickings.

Shame they don't like thlugs and thnails - there are some very lacy hostas in the garden!

Have just seen Hazel's post about her exercise machine. Yikes!

Is your OH still using his treadmill Rubee?

Sorry T Bird, missed you there. Good to see you . Love the owl picture .TBird , yes he is using his treadmill . It’s been a real blessing during the lockdown .He needs a little nudge to go on it now and again . But he goes on it every day .

Hi folks, been out all day so have only just found out that we are up and running again.  We used to have an exercise bike in the bedroom but it was mainly used as a clothes horse so we finally got rid of it.  Love the owl, so cute.  We've had a few days of storms and heavy rain showers so the garden is looking lovely and green.  Hoping for  a few dry days now so I can get out there and tidy up a bit.

Hello Yvie. Nice to see you again. I love the idea of an exercise bike being used as a clothes horse!

    Hello Rubee, Tbird & LB,
All keeping well thank you Rubee, have you been able to see any of your family?
Tbird I’m glad you got your computer sorted out. How lovely to see that owl they are beautiful birds, the rain was very welcome wasn’t it.
LB The children are good, now the year six are back it’s got the atmosphere of a school again they are so pleased to see each other. Sounds like your bird feeders are in great demand, we have a little sparrow family coming in to use ours it’s a lovely sight.
Yvie that’s a good use for an exercise bike 👍
Hazel how is the greenhouse coming along, keeping you busy I’m sure. Have you tried your new garden chair?
Lily, good to see you’re still going out for walks, how are the poppets?
Chey hope you are feeling better,
Ante hope you are keeping well and the weather has improved for your planting,
Pauline good luck with the stock taking tomorrow,
It really is lovely to see everyone again, I hope the others are all ok too.
