Morning Rosie, lucky you had rain too, hope you have a nice day, LB It will be nice to have a change of colour on your gate. Sorry to hear your nephew has lost his job, Im sure his skills will be sought after once businesses can re-employ, such a terrible situation. Hmm excuses…it’s going to take atleast one cuppa to think of a good one 😉☕️
Thanks for your thoughts. He is a very positive person and would love to just be an odd job type person as he can turn his hand to anything. Chive - I'm on it!
Hazel, good news about the staging. Its 13°C here with a 94% chance of rain - make that 100% in my area so I'm in serious drink and think mode.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Afternoon all. We’ve had rain too - about 30 drops I think. Not enough to make me come indoors. Even the rampant vinca in the front border has gone brown and crispy. Garden is just too big to water properly everywhere. Really hope we get some rain soon - things are getting serious now.
Still warm here but not as hot as the last few days. The cooler weather allowed me to cut a couple of the smaller hedges this morning - garden always looks neater afterwards.
Glad you got your bird feeders LB. have visions of the squirrels trying to prise the bars apart.
Rubee - has the carpet dried out yet? What is it with Rezzers and hoses? One burst hose is unfortunate - two is worrying - three is starting to look like a habit...😉
SGL - lovely to hear you’ve ventured out. Dolly steps until you both feel more secure.
Chive - well done getting back to work. Imagine it’s going to feel very different for quite some time.
Rosie - hope you and your furry friend are keeping well🙂
Time for a cuppa and a shower now - not necessarily in that order. Then I’d better run the vac round. So long since we’ve had visitors I’ve stopped looking at the muck but the chimney sweep is coming tomorrow so best make an effort.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Afternoon all! I'm reading you regularly but sometimes don't have time or I'm tired to write. Upcoming weeks will be easier and mostly dedicated to garden. Online teaching will be over in two weeks and we will have a short break. I'm glad that you are all well and I saw that Chey came once here. The weather is still unstable, but it's warm. It's rainy every few day which is good for my plants. I also have a new pet in my front garden. I found him/her yesterday when I was walking with my dog. It was baking hot and she/he 😋 ( I don't recognize gender) would certainly died without water up in the hills.
Hello T'Bird and Ante. Good to see you. T'Bird, I was feeling a bit desperate yesterday as I noticed my Katsura tree was starting to show signs of stress like in the last drought when it lost all it's leaves. Many of its top leaves have gone a bit like your vinca. Ante, we know you will make it here when you can so don't worry. What a lovely new pet to find. I think you can tell the gender of tortoises by looking at the lower shell. In males it is more concave than in females. We need our expert Debs on here to help. I'm glad that you have provided a safe home for it though. Its sad enough seeing our plants suffering through lack of water, never mind the wild creatures. Today's quiz will be Disney themed. There will be no Countries quiz today as it is quite difficult to find appropriate Dingbats/Emojis for many well known countries. Next week I'll try on cities as an alternative so please bear with me for today.

TBird my carpet is drying out, thank you for asking . My elder daughter came and sat in the garden yesterday ,observing the distancing . When she went home I forgot to bring in the cushion that sits on the garden bench .Its as long as the bench .Now a soggy cushion sits outside waiting for some sun . Ante that is a handsome fellow . Very kind of you to rescue him .

LB, I must be honest, I don't know much about Disney, so this quiz is pretty much hard for me.
