Late on parade as usual been dodging the showers all day, we were a bit smug earlier as we managed to time a walk in one of the few dry bright spells in the late morning. Less than 5 min after we got back there was a really heavy downpour, since then we have had hailstones several times as well as rain most of the afternoon. The only gardening today has been sowing another pot of radishes & pricking on some beefsteak tomato seedlings.Β

I had nearly the same experience, had been busy in the garden, came in for a cuppa, looked up and it was pouring with rain. Lucky escape, I was at the top of the garden so would have got soaked.

We’ve had rain interspersed by periods of fine drizzle accompanied by Β bright sunshine Β ... not gardening weather. 🌧 🌈

    Made me smile 🌈🌈🌈

Got a few plants planted today and some roses tidied up and tied back to their supports. Β Settling down now with a glass of white and getting ready for an hour of GW.....yippee πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

I've already drunk my wine and are now on coffee and looking forward to GW in a minute.

Just seen a youngish robin on the terrace eat a rather large butterfly/moth? which was still alive. Rather gruesome in fact, quite put me off my dinner.

I tried a new track today when I went for my walk. Lots of wild orchids which I haven't seen here before. The May (Hawthorn) was out for the 1st May.
