Morning all (it's just morning looking at the time)

I am hoping it brightens up this afternoon as I want to do a spot of gardening. We had torrential rain from late yesterday afternoon through the evening. The ground is very wet but I am pleased as I got up to a very fresh looking garden if you know what i mean.

I saw your post about Twinkle @Yviestevie. I am so pleased that Twinkle is doing well.

Have a good day all 😁

    Hello all,

Happy May Day or as they say in France .... Un brin de muguet pour toi...Que ce bouquet de muguet virtuel t'apporte le bonheur pour l'année à venir ! Joyeux 1er mai !  :)

    It's raining again though.  :'(

I have just had a socially distanced meeting with a builder in my kitchen - all very bizarre, necessary but odd. He was all masked up and we walked around the 5 fridges lined up in the middle (empty & unplugged) examining the state of the walls in a sort of strange dance. Anyway, I have to do a bit more prep for him and he is going to finish it all starting from Tuesday. It was a bigger job than I anticipated once I started stripping. He is very reliable and I have given him a key so he can work alone. Company for the cats too.

I feel your pain @Yviestevie and @Dovefromabove . My sciatic nerve has been playing up the last couple of days, I think it's that anyway, I do seem to suffer with it, Ibuprofen seems to help, sitting and lying down doesn't so I just have to keep moving. Rain therefore very frustrating.  :'(

Thanks for the tip @chicky I will definitely get around to watching Frankenstein, I studied that book at university, absolutely love it, as you say very poignant and Benedict Cumberbatch is an actor I admire too. Just hope I don't have to stand up to watch the performance for two hours.  :/

Now what can I do with myself for the rest of the afternoon....dusting doesn't appeal that much....I suppose it might have to be cake making.  :)

    Good day all.  :)

Happy May Day everyone.  In France and Belgium we offer sprigs of muguets - lily of the valley - to bring good luck.

We also get a BH on the 8th of May, Ascension Thursday and Pentecost Monday which sometimes falls in June.

Not doing too well here.   Head still fuzzy and now our internet has died and needs a replacement something for the modem or some such so I am being channelled thru OH's smart phone which is a tad slow.   New piece on order but will take at least 5 days........

Hope your kitchen work goes well @D0rdogne_Damsel .  I'm supposed to be painting 2 walls in mine but haven't had the energy lately.

Glad Twinkle is doing well @Yviestevie and hope you get good news of your mum soon.

Brain fried now so greetings all and keep safe.

Very messy day, Hubby has finished the bay window and I have managed to iron and put up the curtains.  Wasn't easy with the trapped nerve but I can't stand the mess any longer.  Firstborn sent me a lovely bouquet of flowers with a note telling me not to worry too much about mom as she is a tough old bird.  We are having a card game via facebook tonight so that should take my mind off it a bit.
I am starting another little project in the garden.  Hubby has put the ladders on the wall which has left me with a lovely space along the consevatory wall.  I have ordered four troughs, which came today, and I will be planting them up as soon as the weather improves.  Hoping I have enough compost otherwise I'll have to put another order in to Ashwoods.
Hope the sciatica improves @D0rdogne_Damsel I've been wearing a heat patch for most of today and it has loosened it up a bit.

I’ve just made my second sourdough loaf using a homemade starter/leaven made from an apple

Delicious, much more digestible than bread made using baker’s yeast.

that looks so good Fove. I feel hungry now even though its after 2am. I can’t get to sleep. A good book combined with my little snooze earlier while Masterchef was on. 😡
