Hope you are all keeping well and that the arrival of Spring is raising your spirits during these dull times.
We have turned our attention back to the garden plans again, so will hopefully have more updates to share.
We got engaged last July and my colleagues gave us some vouchers for a local garden centre so I’ve planted up the border with roughly 28 plants. It was nice to finally plant something after all the clearing back.
The hope is if we can get the garden in a decent shape then we could maybe get married in it and have a small celebration with friends and family.
We have a new helper called Annie, if you call digging holes in the grass help that is 🐶
I can't believe I missed this thread until now. What a lovely plot! What a lot of hard work and proper gardening you have done and how lovely to see you enjoying your new home and garden! Congratulations to you both for your achievement and on your engagement! You have all the ingredients for a happy future! Keep us posted with your progress and well done!

Thanks, we are really happy now we are starting to see the bones of our garden.
It has been hard but rewarding work. I sit at a desk working all day so it feels like a nice bit of escapism to get out in the garden whatever the weather.
We got Annie through a rehoming page on Facebook. She started life as a street dog in Romania. She is really well adjusted in such a short period of time
Congratulations @FumblingGracefully on your engagement and what a lovely thought to get married in your gorgeous garden. I love those walls and the new border is coming along beautifully, looks so much better now. You must be very proud of your achievements, well done!
Thanks 😊, I proposed to Fern up in the hills at the Benmore Botanic Gardens across the river from us. Sensing a theme here 🤔 😆
I look forward to seeing how the plants mature. Hopefully they will put on a bit of growth this year 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Congratulations on your engagement, and what a gorgeous dog (great name 😉 !). It's looking lovely and l look forward to seeing more photos as the year goes on. It's always nice to hear of someone discovering the pleasure that gardening can bring
Thought I’d post a couple of updates of the garden.
The border is starting to fill up with plants. I’ve especially enjoyed the geums and anemones.
We’ll eventually be widening/reshaping the border and will add another down the whole left hand side of the garden and have started to layout an area for decking at the top.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying the warmer weather

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
