When you feed the leaven you discard some of it ... I saved it and made pancakes for breakfast and had them with apple and cinammon compote.
Next time I’m going to just make one loaf and save some of the ‘preferment’ mix to freeze in lumps then I can thaw and feed a lump the day before I want to bake.

I have toothache! Feels like a wee infection as it's throbbing so I didn't sleep well. Can't see a dentist but have had a chat with one who's sending a prescription to the local chemist for me. Ibuprofen not allowed during Covid and paracetamol not doing the trick so codeine for bedtime and antibiotics for a week.
It's dull and grey here which is fine as we hadn't planned any gardening today other than putting up some gates to keep the dogs off the potager - very important when we do get hens - and tidying up all the pots in my potting shed. We did a bit too much yesterday and got a bit pink too - not burned, just gentle tanning.
Lovely to see your new growth @Pat E. Hope all chicklets and fairylets are doing well now.
Good health to all posters and their families.

Bread looks great Dove ....maybe I’ll have toast for breakfast 😋. Our bread is made in a bread making machine - although Mr C has started using the machine for making the dough and then baking it in the oven, so that he can vary the size/shape of the loaf.
Great to see the bush regenerating @Pat E ......wonder how long it will take the wildlife to recover .....much longer I would think ☹️
I think we get one more fine day before the rain sweeps in. Just enough time to let me pot on all my acers - a job that is about 2 years overdue 🙄.
Then we will be confined to barracks for awhile......I have downloaded the stage version of Les Mis to watch when I have a spare 3 hours. Its the production we went to see last year, and it was goosebump making, so hope it translates to the small screen well. The National Theatre are also doing free versions of some of their stuff online. Its a different play every week ....Twelfth Night (with Tamsin Grieg) this week and Frankenstein (with Benedict Cumberbatch) next week. I need more hours in the day please 🤣
@chicky I heard there's a version of Mathew Bourne's Swan Lake available to watch, but can't find it. Any clues? I just caught the tail end of Zoe Ball mention it, but didn't catch the website
Chicklet is making good progress - up and about now (although still moving gingerly) and able to navigate the stairs. She has another week off work, so should still be able to do lots of sleeping to recuperate. The hospital sent her home with ibuprofen ......I thought you only shouldn’t take it for Covid symptoms? Thought it was ok to use it for other things??
@Obelixx, would not worry about brufen, it is one of the drugs being trialled as a possible treatment for COVID. The idea that it might makke things worse never made any sense to me.
