    Morning allĀ Ā  :)

Fingers still firmly crossed here for a quick and successful outcome to the surgery, @chicky.Ā  As Pat said, probably better in the circumstances to get it out and over with, so a possible operation isn't hanging over you.Ā  Hope it's good gardening weather so you can keep busy, and they let her come home very soon...Ā  xx

I had a "whoops moment" yesterday, Dove.Ā  Trying to water my seeds in a hurry, I caught the edge of the tray of Primula japonica and upended it.Ā Ā  :/Ā  I guess I'll have to try again next year.

Our resident Blackcap has been christened Mr Scribble.Ā  He's very territorial, and wakes us up at an ungodly hour with his chattery little song - from the bushes just beyond the end of the garden, I think.

Support on the forum is so important.Ā  Everyone around our new home is very friendly and helpful, but our closest friends are all in England... so, thank you all.Ā Ā  :)

Best wishes @chicky for a good quick outcome, this is a problem at the moment the normal health issues have not gone away.Ā

    Best to all.Ā

    This is for @Pat E -Ā https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUeoUlvB-e8&feature=share&fbclid=IwAR3vPOStn_KKICIYDlviMrHlNITHIj6k1dLCoKeUpX8BkTtz97wsx1BLcLs

We have asparagus too @Allotment Boy but only a few spears on each plant as they are still young.Ā  OH doesn't understand why we aren't eating them.

Big clean continuing here.Ā  Satisfying in a strange way.

If all the positive waves from here ht their target Chicklet will be fine.Ā  Hugs @chicky.

Thanks very much Obelixx. I can see that I’ll be playing all of them over the next couple of days. Love it.Ā

Afternoon all,Ā  Thanks for the offer @Dovefromabove but I have managed to keep myself occupied.Ā  Have been getting duckweed off the top of the pond whilst avoiding the tadpoles.Ā  Have also done a bit of weeding and got a little excited by the fact that next door have actually done some gardening which included removed 10ft high suckers off a twisted hazel that had been annoying me for a very long time.
Hope the op goes OK, it's just awful that it had to happen at this particular time.Ā  Firstborn had to have hers out 2 days before we were due to fly to Cyprus so no holiday that year.Ā
We are having slow cooked leg of lamb for dinner, can't wait it's been on a low heat for six hours, should be loverly.

I managed on my own @Yviestevie šŸ˜‰... am longing for some lamb ... must put it on the list for the next farm shop order. But today I’ll be perfectly happy with our slow- roasted belly of pork with a a layer of Bramley slices under the crackling, with roast potatoes, spring greens and pork & apple gravy šŸ½ ready shortly ...

Pork belly here too - it's OH's turn to cook and he likes doing crackling. He'll hopefully do some apple sauce too, but I think we're having mash rather than roasties - which suits me fine. I'm better at roasties than him anyway [smug].

Got quite a lot done this weekend - I'm almost done clearing the veg patch now, including clearing away all the bits of broken fence. Just one small bed to go. I'm still holding off planting the peas out because I'm not convinced there isn't still someone getting in there and munching stuff. Signs of digging in the potato bed - but it could be one of the stray cats rather than anyone who'll eat my plants. I've shored up a couple of weak spots and will keep a watch for a few more days.

Fingers firmly crossed for chicklet. I imagine they'll get her out and home PDQ. Glad to know the Hosta sprout is back home. DD - that terrace looks fabulous. I can well imagine sitting out there eating a slice of delicious cake.... Hope you had a calm quiet day, AuntyR. You know we're all thinking of you when you're working, I hope?

Have a good week everyone - stay safe

The mentioned dinners sound delicious. I haven’t had lamb for ages.
I am cooking a gammon joint and fancy fried potatoes and egg salad with it. We may even eat outside this evening.Ā

Had lamb last week and belly pork the week before so chuck this week.Ā  I brined it this morning and it's now spatchcocked and in the oven with a generous dusting of Raz-el-Hanout spices.Ā  Roast sweet potatoes, steamed and broccoli and chicken gravy.Ā  Butch red for us too.Ā  Decided not to have rhubarb crumble.Ā  Saving that for next week.
