@D0rdogne_Damsel, I have a man who mows (house sitter) and a son who lives not far away but neither does weeding.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Evening all,

You're quite right @Yviestevie, I've not been back for over 3 years and although he's been cutting grass and hedges, and on occasion strimming 😱 the flowerbeds, nettles, bramble and creeping buttercups have taken over. It's nice to rescue it, but when I get back to work I couldn't possibly manage to keep on top of it all so who knows what will happen then. I do remember not being upset about leaving him but heartbroken about leaving the garden. To be fair to him he has behaved impeccably and been a source of comfort and support. Great to be seeing Charlie everyday too, the thought of being separated from him in these circumstances was unbearable. Anyhow, thank goodness for flowers and gardening. 🌸
@Busy-Lizzie - I'm pleased it's being looked after, but gosh it'll need some weeding when you get back, perfect growing conditions here, warm sun by day, showers in the evening. 😱

Hope everyone is ok, Mediterranean vegetables and poached salmon consumed here for dinner, feeling sleepy now after a full day on the garden - still not stripped the kitchen, far too sunny. Goodnight all. Stay Safe.

We went for a drive today to where the bushfires near us were so active 3 months ago. My photos are trying to show the regeneration happening even though we’ve had no rain to speak of yet.

I find it interesting to see the various Eucalyptus species sending up shots and leaves.

It makes me happy to see the various Eucalyptus species regenerating.

The strappy ones in the foreground are Lomandra longifolia.

    Good morning all 😊 ☕️
great to see such positive pics @Pat E 😃 ... but it must be alarming to actually see how close the fires were raging.

    We’re very relieved about that @Pat E 😊

it’s overcast here today and we have rain on the way ... that’ll water my plants nicely (especially the veg patch). We had to top the pond up yesterday ... the frogs were very relieved.

I wish we could get some rain Dove. Everything is looking so stressed in the garden.

I’m looking forward to dinner tonight. I bought a small lamb roast on Friday, so Hubby has got it in the oven.😜

We had lamb yesterday @Pat E ... Barnsley chops ... do you know that cut in Australia or are they called something else?
