On Tomorrow’s World they promised us jet packs ... mine has not arrived .. 😭 why isn’t there a ‘stampy feet’ smiley?

I claim bonus points as mine is vaguely garden-related

Clay in my garden is wonderfully workable for two days after rain. The two days are over. No sign of rain.😞

This morning I asked OH to dig me a biggish hole in the grass verge outside to plant an ox-eye daisy plant I really don't want in the garden. Duly done, not without difficulty.

At lunchtime, it occurred to me that I should have split the plant into 3 or 4 bits and planted in smaller holes in the verge.

Guess what I shall be doing this afternoon!

I do that with plants as well, clumps of Monbretia,  daffodils and Astilbe out there.

And is it only me that fears that the Government have been scammed by fraudsters in Turkey into buying non-existent medical supplies?  Something fishy is going on methinks. Why buy from Turkey anyway?

Manufacturing in the UK is expensive - pay, insurance, pensions, holidays, overtime pay, safety measures - whereas in Turkey/Bangladesh/Pakistan/India/China they can employ people - usually women - at very low wages in appalling conditions and with no safety measures or job security and make much bigger profits.

Think on that next time you buy an item of clothing or some household goods not made in the UK or Europe.

I've given up on Suttons ever delivering my seed order. They sent out a general email two weeks ago saying they were packing and shipping seed orders placed the day before mine so they've either run out of seeds and don't have the time to send emails to say so or they're waiting for more stock to come in. Aparently I can't cencel my order I just have to wait to see if it ever arrives and then return it if at my own expense if I want a refund.
I've also been trying to order a birthday present for my mum but it's almost impossible to find anywhere that either has stock or isn't taking the p**s on prices at the moment. Looking at online reviews a lot of people are sending friends and relatives food hampers and chocolates to cheer them up at the moment or to say thankyou for helping out people who are self-isolating.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

@wild edges  it's my MIL's 80th today ... she lives on her own and is self-isolating ... we've sent her  a gift hamper of 100 Lindor truffle chocs from these folkhttps://www.chocolatesdirect.co.uk/ ... very straight forward, reasonable price and delivered promptly.  She's chuffed ... as she says, she doesn't even have to share them with anyone  ;)
