I have speakers. To a few people in US, they know nothing about that, why should he do that? US are just as likely to develop their own vaccine why start now offering large sums of money.
I think we are all suitable shit scared now, the media need to stick to facts form now on.

I quite agree @Lyn. I saw a headline this morning "250,000 people WILL die in UK".
How do they know that ? It could be far below that number or, God forbid, it could be many more.
It was the use of the word WILL in capital letters that annoyed me.
It may be that reading further into the article there is a more reasonable tone (although l doubt it somehow !)
How can "they" tell people to be sensible and not panic buy loo rolls etc. and then allow this to be published?  Grr.

I can't help remembering the millennium bug. It was going to cause the collapse if civilisation as we knew it - but it didn't
I also remember an expert saying that mini skirts would cause women to get fat thighs as the body would store fat there to protect them from the cold.
However, come to think of it, there are an awful lot of women with awful fat thighs. I blame it on leggings, but I'm no expert.

We flew to Malaysia when everyone said we'd die of SARS and we both had a a row of 4 seats each to lie down and sleep.
sorry, that was more a " reason to be cheerful"

@Hostafan1, l think that would be good idea (and l'm not being sarcastic). There are already several sites that l have made a conscious decision to avoid for the foreseeable future.
Maybe there should be a covid free thread set up for general curmudgeonliness ?

@b3, my thighs were too fat to even begin to wear a mini skirt , but l am willing to use the "I wore a mini skirt in my youth" excuse in any future conversations l may have  :)
